Are there any guidelines which suggest whether to delete or modify a question or Tip&Trick? I've just been using my judgement for now, but it would be nice to know if there's something coherent I could go by.

I would like to suggest that a preview is FORCED on anyone below gold status when they post an article. I'm tired of seeing articles posted by (mostly) foreigners (and mostly from India) that have completely ignored the appearance of their article. It's starting to piss me off.

I second the idea of enforcing a preview; I would do it everywhere things can be edited.
All it takes is moving the "publish" button to the preview page. Hence:
- the edit page would have "preview" and "cancel" buttons;
- the preview page would have "back to editor", "publish" and "cancel" buttons.

It's not just the formatting that's a problem, some of the content is just a waste of space. I suppose the alternative is to prevent people below Gold status from using the wizard, but that would add a whole lot of work on the editors. Perhaps we need more editors.

There's no good answer to the "content problem". I think that's just something we're going to have to deal with anyway. However, the general appearance of the article in terms of formatting can probably be addressed. I think a big part of the problem is that people can copy/paste into the article body field. A lot of the problems I think are because of various sources people use (like Word, or some other word processor that bastardizes the HTML with needless tags and bogus styles.
Maybe the editor should filter out any unsupported tags or style settings for members that haven't reached gold status. However, I think that would probably be the proverbial "rock so big that even god himself cannot lift".

This is the same as having guidelines for programming forums. The ones who should read it, won't read it.

It may help. Just like laws, traffic signs and door locks. They don't solve everything, but they tend to improve the situation by helping people making the right decisions.

In the 'Message boards' menu I get only the 'All message boards...' option.
Happens only on web19 (as far as I could found out) and is consistent (try'd several refreshes)

Seems like the legend has switched from the right side to the left.
Was this intended? Because it looks a bit weird on new members

As addition, my reputation graphic got zoomed out (now it is difficult to read the legends)

putting the legend inside the graph allowed for a larger graph, which most of the time results in a much clearer view of the rep evolution.
|
|

IMO turning the legend's background to white, instead of transparent, could improve such graphs.

That would solve the issue of New members' graphs[^].
White looked so boring though. How about something off-white?

which off-white do you have in mind?
the alternative would be to fiddle with the vertical scale:
- pick the total reputation at 30 or 50% of the x-axis (i.e. just to the right of the legend)
- set twice that as the minimum for the rep range (so in the first 30/50% of the graph the top half is free for the legend).
For most people, that would not affect things; people having a very flat reputation graph would see the
graph somewhat compressed. It would fail if and only if rep went up, then strongly went down again.

Unfortunately I spent my break alternatively popping cold and flu medication and painting my bathroom (an excellent combination: fumes and medication) so in my head I have "burnt snow", "persephone mist", "pasturised almond" and whatever ridiculous names paint manufacturers come up with for their colours. How about tooltip yellow?
What if the graph were top center? Or - what if it were top or bottom and laid out horizontally?
