It is not possible to hide your app from Task Manager. Sure, you can poke around it's controls and take over it's display, but Task Manager is not the only way to see the list of processes running.

Wrong on all counts, except drivers since those are not seperate process, but loaded as part of the kernel itself.

Virus scanners and keyloggers all show up in Task Manager. You just have to know what you're looking for.

What are you using to do the zipping?

it totally depends on what the libraries being used are capable of.

Why not do it in VB.NET or C# and make the resulting project a COM visible DLL. Then you could use that in the VB6 project.

As I said, write the email component in VB.NET and when you compile it, make it COM visible. You can then use reference the resulting DLL in your VB6 project.
