We are using ‘Visual Studio Team System 2008 – Development Edition’ IDE to build ASP.NET applications.

Hi All,
I am using one grid view in which i m displaying data.
now i am using one item template which consist a link button
for activate and deactive.
I want to display text ACTIVATE or DEACTIVATE based on value store in the database.
if it is 1 then activate

Hi
I was asked this question - How do you start consuming a WCF service in advance (read before being implemented/deployed)?
I couldn't think of a very convincing answer and said probably we can generate a proxy and provide some stubs ..etc... you got the idea. Even I was not convinced with myself. The question do make sense as presentation and services are different tiers. One should not be waiting on other in development at least.
Anyways, so I have been thinking since then and need some pointers on this from experts out there. Any suggestions / approaches?.

Edit: Didn't noticed this is ASP.Net forum. You should have posted it in WCF forum.
IMO, this should not be done. Unless you are 100% sure that whatever service/operation contract you have in the initial phase, are going to be the same throughout the devlopement. In case there are any changes in these, presentation layer would also need a change. This might cause problems.
Still, if you wish to proceed like this, then:
Once you have your service contract and operation contract finalized, you can use stubs returning some dummy value. This way, you can have a proxy class which can be used in the presentation layer.
If you are not using proxy class, just host the stubs some where which presentation layer can add as service reference.

Hi,
I am new to .NET. I am doing a project in ASP.Net, in that i have a gridview with some rows in it. and Edit and Delete Buttons are there. I want to edit a particular record, i have to click on the edit button, then the form will be displayed with the fields in the disable mode.
i am using RowCommand event for the Edit button, but i am getting an error in the gridview.
Can anyone help me in finding the answer. Its very urgent.

Sorry i didn't get the answer. it worked for the first time. I have given the response.redirect(page & querystring). without the query string it is redirecting to the next page, but when i am giving the query string i am getting the error. So i removed the query string and given in the row command event like msgbox("Test"). But i am getting the following error.

Your Problem state clearly that you did not handle a RowEditing Event. If you are using a SQL Datasource this error will not occur. But i support what you are doing than using wizards to do your database work. What you need to do is to
