Windows CE / Windows Mobile doesn't have Java support built in. Your application won't run unless you install some type of JAva environment. Some devices have a java environment installed from the OEM but this isn't common.

Hi Everybody,
I new with .Net interop and I am facing a problem and i need help it is urgent.
I want to use .Net libraries in un managed code, I have followed this link
Exposing .NET Components to COM
and it really works.
The problem happens when i have began to do the same steps with MFC smart device application, it fails and gives my run time error "COM error". I made some searches and i have discovered that i need to register the .dll as COM class first before I can use it, but i don't know how to do so.
Can any one help me.

I took a look at it and it appears to be Windows/C++ code that is running in an iPhone skin. It doesn't produce iPhone executables (if I'm wrong and over looked something please correct me).

The SDK allows you to develop your application on Windows, using Visual C++. From the IDE, your application will run in an iPhone simulator, and when you're ready to deploy, the DragonFireSDK people have a service that will build your application on Mac and publish it to the iPhone App Store.
It's good for those casual developers who want to get in to the iPhone marketplace, but don't want to have to invest in a Mac, and deal with Apple's rules about publishing their programs.

Are you using the Red5Labs component so that your Nokia phone can run .Net programs? Beyond this add on (which isn't free) Nokia phones can't run programs developed in VS2005.

Hi, I got my previous problem sorted. Another question. I have screens for all the various functions in my program. In the startApp method I call the method createScreens which creates each screens. The problem is when this is called each screen flashes on screen before the mainmenu pops up when the program is launched. The main menu is not a screen. Please see code below:

I have my website which have a database to it and i wants that both server application and my website will share the same database.
The main feature of the server application i to make continuous http request to a URL and capture the response and perform according to the response.
But i dont know what to do in this regards, i am totally stucked to this please help me what to do.
which kind of application i have to make either web application or web services & how i will integrate it to my website.

Just make a webservice in your existing web application and call this webservice from mobile, windows or web application

I'm a little confused on your question. You've posted your question in the Mobile programming section, but I don't see any mobile aspect to the task that you are trying to accomplish. Either you left out a detail of your scenario or you have posted your question in the wrong forum.

Hello fellows..This is Muzammil.
I am new in mobile development so if I ask something wrong or on wrong platform...plz guide me.
I wanted to ask that how can I access database that is on my desktop PC using a Mobile Remotely.
Example of this can a bank where an interface is available using wi-fi and customers can make their transaction using their mobiles (off course wi-fi enabled mobiles).
I am asking for a general roadmap or approach that I should use NOT the code itself.

In general it's better if you expose the functionality that you need through web services and have the mobile devices access the information through those services instead of exposing your database. Using web services will also add a layer of insulation so that you can potentially make changes to your database and would only need to change the service implementation appropriatly such that the mobile applications are unaffect.
Since you are targetting a mobile device you may want to consider what will be done when a connection cannot be established. Will the application just not work, or will you have offline functionality too. If you will have offline functionality then you may want to consider making your application what Microsoft calls a "Smart client." More information on that can be found in Microsoft's Patterns and Practices pages.
I know you said you are new to mobile development, but you've not stated your comfort level with development in general. If you need more guidance on how to do what I describe let me know and I can be more detailed.

Hi...well actually im not a developer. I am student and looking for a good project to do. I was thinking if i get a snapshot or some kind of national id, then using some wireless connection with the nearest server, i should be able to extract information from that server. Off course there is a touch of distributed system as well.

I`m trying to set width of scrollbar for System.Windows.Form.Panel control. I can't find any native or unmanaged code to do so. Has anybody got solution to this problem?
I have found this article, but i think it's not good solution. Is there maybe any other control on which I can set scrollbar size?

Hi ,
I have made a application which on installation(using setup CAB proj) installs two short cuts. One in "programs folder " and other in " start menu". The start menu shortcut has a command argument as i want a specific part of app to run when application is started from "startmenu" and when started from "Programs folder" i want the app to run in normal mode. Now, both my requirments are working fine as long as application is not already running. If app is already running(in background), and i start it from "start menu", the arguments are not being processed. Here is the code i have written to process the command arguments.

so what i want to know is if this Main() method called when the application is already running in background and its reactivated using the short cut in "start menu". If not then while reactivating, which events are fired, and which one i can use to process the command arguments? I have checked that Activated and OnFocus events don't give the command arguments.
Please suggest some solution. Thanx.
