In my application i want to catch the row number of a gridview from the click event of a button,which is inside the cell of the gridview.Actually i want to know the row number of the button clicked.How can it be achieved??

Quite a few ways. Add an attribute to your button and set its value as Container.DisplayIndex. Then you can access this attribute in the click event of the button to get the row index. You can also do the same using the naming container property.

Hi
I have a webapplication where it was working fine till today afternoon and suddenly started showling the belo error

Failed to generate the user instance of SQLSERVER due to failure in starting the process for the user instance. The connection wil be closed.

Tried in various ways after googling. But still no result.

Tried by Deleting the SQLEXPRESS folder in below path
C:\Documents and Settings\naina\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server Data\SQLEXPRESS

Restaring the SQLEXPRESS

Can somebody help me in coming out of this error.

There is no single control for this. You're best bet would be to create a server or user control that contained all of the necessary controls.

It all depends on your implementation and how many controls on the page. You should encapsulate the related controls into either a user or server control for better maintainability and reuse

I am using ASP.NET 2.0 and MS ACCESS 2007.
Connection string is like this.
OleDbConnection con = new OleDbConnection("Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;,DataSource=~/DeviceCtrl.mdb");

When I run this application, I get this problem "Could not find installable ISAM."
What can be the reason and solution to this?
Plz help me.

Do you have the MDB in the Root Directory. Normally this error could be arrive if the path is not mentioned for the datasource. Set the MDB path fully and try

Am setting up an application on my system which has been working for years. it internally calls some XX Web service.

When I run this application its throwing the following error (but it is working properly on other systems)

System.Net.WebException: The request failed with HTTP status 407: Proxy Authentication Required ( The ISA Server requires authorization to fulfill the request. Access to the Web Proxy filter is denied. ).
at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.ReadResponse(SoapClientMessage message, WebResponse response, Stream responseStream, Boolean asyncCall)
at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.Invoke(String methodName, Object[] parameters)

i tried the following this to resolve this, but still getting the same error

1. Tried to bypass this proxy for the web server hosted machine in Machine.config file
2. Gave admin rights to ASPNET account and some other accounts.

Please advice on this, i need to get it resolve with out making any code changes.

when I click on the popcalendar, menu items disappear(when i click on the menu, submenu not appear).
why?how to retrieve menu items?

I m Developing website.....

In website, i have to update Latest News ....

For this, i created a table in database and i have field News Heading and News Path(Path means web Address).....................

What i have to do is to fetch "News Heading" from database and have to display it on the webpage, and "News Heading" must act like hyperlink, and it will take webaddress from database ......

I hope you got what m trying to say......!!

1. First, get the url count from db and create as much as links dynamically you want.
2. Assign the text and url address appropriately.

Hi,
It would be better if you type the code, so it might be easy for us to tell whats wrong with it or what u find difficult.

Solution: Fetch What news has to be shown from database and then assign to text property of a Link Button.

But suppose in DB there r 20 entries then for this i have to create 20 LinkButtons or Hyperlinks.....

So it will get complicated.

1) I want to do is that first we write coding for calculating the number of entries in Db table.

2) Then corresponds to that entries, it will generate that number of link buttons..

Isnt it?

I tried to create one LinkButton. Used this code.

            sw = New System.IO.StringWriter

But only displays the text. No hyperlink is displayed ?
