Hey buddies , I am a new to ASP. I am a C# programmer............................. But my customers wanted me to make them web Pages when I made a software in C# for them.......................I have learned an introduction to Web Development in HTML and PHP. But I wanted to know ASP.Net . One of my friend told me to work on PHP bcoz ...."U can get more free codes when u r in trouble even Tutorials" as he said. For now I wanted to develop Personal sites. But latter I also wanted to develop my own advertisement site.
So which one do u recommend me to use? i.e which one is better in all case.

It Depends Upon the website You Are Developing?But You Will get the most Help for Microsoft technologies when compared to any other technologies..!But Also Dont Forget Your Are In ASP.net Forum..!

Ok tnx for your information. By the way for now I am going to develop for 2 persons a personal site. Then I also wanted to develop my own advertisement only site(if it makes me more money). By the way I also heard that web pages developed by Asp.Net are slower than others developed by php. Is that really true? Why?

I have deployed my asp.net application local to my machine
and when I open IIS7 and select to brows my application it works fine
and the url appears like http://localhost/myapplication
but when I replace localhost with my machine name (i.e. http://mymachine/myapplication)
it bombs
I guessed it is an IIS configuration issue but failed to fix it

It might be helpful for for us if you give us the error message.
Did you also try with IPAdress instead of localhost?

It is called Favicon[^].
The simplest way is to create an icon (16*16 or 32*32), name it as favicon.ico and put it in the root directory of your website.

<I have written code to test the SqlDataAdaptor's LoadOpton functionality for LoadOption.OverwriteChanges.
But the code that i written is not working.. Values are not getting overwritten
Here are the values which i am getting when i run the code

I have a div with a backgroung image, I set its width to 300px and its height to 200px.
When I do that the div is aligned to the left altough I set :
<body style="text-align:center">
When I dont set the div's height and width it looks ok..

You can do it using two ways :
1. Change Div layout. give padding for position.
2. Create Table. Put Div inside TD. set alignment for TD.

Hi all,
I have webpage and 2 buttons(say Butn1, Butn2),
when i click on a Butn1,it will load usercontrol below the 2 buttons on the same page,
that usercontrol having a pdf file opens on the same webpage(i mean, it won't show open modaldaialog and asking 'Open' 'save' 'cancel'.)
after that
when i click Butn2, it will open AjaxModalpopup and asking some details to register.
problem:
when i click on button2 Modalpopup appear but it is not blocking behind the page. that pdf file is still readable in this case.
i want to open modalpopup and it should block entire page even Pdf file behind that modalpopup
how to achive this?

do you mean that you can click items on the page?
if so, it seems you do not use the correct extender

Hi friend,
i am using same extender, but the problem is with the pdf, which is opening below the buttons, that pdf Appears above the modalpopup,so it hides my pop up panel.
can any one tell me how to open this modal popup above this PDF..

Hi,
I am using Localized datagrid in my thin client web application. I want to sort the localized datagrid. I am able to sort when i go for gridview control. But i am in the need to use Localized datagrid. The properties for gridview are available in Localized datagrid also, i have set the properties like 'AllowSorting = 'True' and provided the Datafield value to SortExpression properties. But still i am not able to sort using Localized Datagrid.
Looking forward for some help.

Well I got the tool and it might solve the concern. If you understand the business layer and data layers working properly and u are suppose to do the same lines of code around 200 times, then it would be better to make them auto generating so that on can generate the base data transmission in an easy and simple and yet faster. But at the same time you should have the bottom line clear in your mind.
The required tool can itself be written in very simple manner. So if somebody don't want to answer then please maintain the credibility of the forum and do not post any grotesque scrap.
