This creature[^] has been consistently abusive on the lounge, starting flamewars, posting garbage and all sorts of other nonsense. Not a single message that he posts make sense at any level.
Basically he's been following the footsteps of Kyle, "Teh" developer, and other clueless asshats. Can we have him kicked out, please?
[Additionally, this idiot has been univoting good articles for no sane reasons. You could as well consider removing his votes from such articles]

Some people have their own pages (like a certain FF addon). However, those don't appear to be bookmarkable under the groups page. It would be nice if the page authors had the ability to add users to their page so that their page appears in our groups.

None of this member's[^] posts actually have any real content beyond the <AOL>"me too"</AOL> level, but his sig has multiple links to various sites. I spotted him after he tried pulling the same stunt in the lounge.

He's a persistent one, too... Look at his post history, particularly the comments on articles... He changes the advertising links in his sig based on the article topic... Web hosting sites, Nigerian mapping sites, some kind of solar energy thing...
Not going to click any of his links, but you have to admit, the guy is working hard to spam us or SEO the sites. He's been doing it since April of this year, it seems, and polluting a lot of articles on the site.

I notified CP of the problem by Email about 2.5 hours ago and just after I hit Send I suddenly thought, I've been having problems with my connection/ISP all day, what if it was that that was stopping the redirect?

No problems with your ISP, this was my bad. The correct link was in fact http://www.codeproject.com/redir.aspx?adid=11511. The HTML version of the survey email contained both a link to the survey and a link to CP. Just to be cheeky I decided to track the CP link on the HTML email. On the TEXT version of the email, I did not track the CP link as it would have looked weird. But like an idjut, I pasted the CP tracker instead of the survey tracker. I blame the flu...

Hi,
I am using some code from an excellent article by Jean-Paul Mikkers on parsing the IE favorites folder [^].
In the download files for that article there is no copyright statement or CPOL statement (no stand-alone, no content embedded in any of the project files).
It is not my intention to use this code in a commercial project now, although I understand that option is fine under CPOL.
I've read the CPOL license carefully and I'm wondering if there is any obligation to include in your source something like the following when the code you are "borrowing" does not include any specific CPOL statements :
I would do this in any case, simply for the sake of internal documentation (changes I might make to the internals of any methods or field names in the "borrowed" code I would document before the declarations of their classes or methods).
Anyway, I'm just curious what "fair play" practice is in cases like these, and I do understand there is another set of issues that would arise were I to want to distribute the actual source (the question of the fact that unless I obfuscated my code, someone could probably resurrect the source from the compiled bits ... well, who can deal with that one ?).

Sorry for the delay in replying - just back from holidays.
There is no explicit requirement that you include in your source that type of wording, but there is a requirement that you make your end users aware of the license the code is under when using the CPOL. Having text such as you suggested is an excellent way of doing this.

While I think the option to "vote to remove message" works quite well, it sometimes doesn't encourage people to think what they post.
There are a few ones, who I frequently see (especially in the Lounge) who have about 80% of their posts removed. Whats more, they gain reputation quite rapidly just by posting crap 
I propose two extensions to voting system:
1. If a user have many of his messages removed in short time (10 messages in 3 days?), he gets temporary ban for a few days(a week?). By a ban I mean inability to post anything or vote.
2. Messages automatically removed shouldn't count for reputation.
I'm aware that such system could result in "revenge ban wars", but it may also encourage some people to just care what they post...

In theory this sounds nice but nothing prevents that 'banned' user from creating a new account and just continue his crap postings.

No, but probably the new account will be banned in the same manner. I'm not talking about permanent bans - however it may be also considered for frequently banned accounts, or temporary accounts, that will not be used for some time after unlock - just to not garbage users database.
The aim is to send message to trolls: "we don't like that kind of posts, please consider changing your style". And to not allow people gain reputation just by posting crap which is removed anyway.
