GeneralSuggestion: Taking CodeProject to the next level Pin

I realize this idea will not be an easy one to implement and may not even be all that feasible but I think it can take CP to the next level.

I think it would absolutely rock if we could have source control(SVN) and bug tracking functionality right here. Let me elaborate…

One could create a project like lets say for arguments sake a client-server texas hold’em game written from scratch in C#.

The article possibilities are almost endless. You can have an article on

• the server architecture
• the client architecture
• how, why and where the game logic sits and gets executed
• the protocol implementation & how to control different protocol versions between the clients and server
• the GDI+ stuff that need to happen in the client app when drawing and animating cards, etc.

In each of these articles you can try and show only the basics that the articles topics will cover with regards to coding… But each of those articles can then be linked to your SVN project so that the reader can see the particular concept in action in a real world application. And if updates are made you don’t have to update the links to all 5 articles every time.

The other benefit is it will be easier to do collaborative projects with other CPians, and also have some form of bug tracking system.

It would also be nice to be able to make a code repository (or project) either public or private. While I’ll share most of my code with the other CPians, I’d like for some of it to remain private and be only an online backup of my work if you will.

Just some ideas I had floating around in my head. Let me know what you guys think
