Hi,
I clicked on the bullfrog power link on the left, and got taken to the following URL:
http://www.codeproject.com/script/PressReleases/View.aspx?prid=31[^]
This page displays the standard header and side bar, but no actual content. Also, the 'report a problem' link at the bottom appears to be broken. Moving the mouse over it makes it underlined, but there doesn't appear to be an actual hyperlink there.
I'm using IE8 on Windows 7 build 7100. The problem appears with and without compatibility mode. The same thing happens in Google Chrome 2 and Opera 9.

Extending it a little further, if there seems to be any issue in the querystring argument (prid=, say the number is passed correctly), the page displays on a white background, sans any header and left navigation with a few dummy labels scattered here and there besides what just looks like a lone response.write of "Not enough information was supplied in order to display this page".
When the above error condition is reached, the browser is also very rude and presents a lot of turbulence besides resizing itself to the left top of the screen.
Perhaps if CP Team could address this too, it would be great.

Not sure if you're supporting Chrome - but the php forum only displays the first message. but if you press next it displays all 51-100 messages(?!).
IE and FF display fine though.
And I'm sure it was working last week. A recent update?

Yes - Kent is on holidays so we are all tag-teaming trying to get it out after midnight, but there have been a few occasions where it's been difficult to coordinate, so sometimes they go out just after breakfast, Toronto time.

I have just discovered MS SketchFlow and would like to add a like to a SketchFlow prototype in my next article in my XAML Graphics series on Silverlight 3. I do not know all the internals yet, I have not installed the application. It is browser based. I think all that would be necessary is that the SketchFlow project be added to my uploads and a link placed within the article. It opens the project in a new tab or window and allows the user (the readers) to view my prototype as it is was conceived.
My articles are mostly Silverlight/WPF prototype development projects. I think this would be a great help. My articles in the XAML Graphics series is aimed at bridging the gap between Developers, Designers, and Architects.
It also adds some really interesting abilities. If a reader is a prospect of the technology contained in the article, they can redesign the prototype and send the new design to a developer. The developer can then download the demo source from the article and directly import the new designs into expression blend.

Hmm, I don't think it is broken. I watched it very early this morning. Microsoft is doing a remix in Tokyo right now. Maybe they are overloading the system. I did update the link. You may be able to find another link by googling "Expression SketchFlow"

Hi Chris,
I have created a prototype for a new project Harold and myself are designing. Unfortunatly I don't think the readers would be able to directly view it from the article. Thought they can download the prototype and work with it. It's just a splash screen and it's 1.8 Mb. Geesh! I am hoping it won't grow much more. I think it's mostly ancilary wpf classes and stuff that get thrown into the heap.

Uhm there would simply be too much traffic. Even CP is not big enough to let all those millions of assembly programmers in!

I'm with you in stating there are millions of assembly programmers, however judging from the articles on CP, I would say most of them aren't CP members. So adding an assembly forum would either be unsuccessful, or attract large quantities of new members. Not sure which.
Now if there would be an assembly forum, I would insist on having a separate forum for multimedia assembly too (MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSE4, and their AMD alternatives).

in the "How to get an answer to your question" stickies (more than 1!) there is a confusing sentence:
#6 If you are posting source code with your question, place it inside
<pre></pre> tags, or click the "Ignore HTML tags in this message" check box.
Multiline code should ALWAYS be put in PRE tags, your sentence gives the wrong impression checking some checkbox would be equally well. I would prefer something along these lines:

before pasting anything inside the PRE block, and make sure the "Ignore HTML tags in this message" check box is unchecked.

Why do you say that Luc? The below examples work well without html/pre-tag support.

Because statement #6 is wrong as it implies checking the "Ignore HTML tags in this message" check box is in some way equivalent to, or as good as, using PRE tags, which it isn't.
PRE tags offer:
- a monospaced font, much easier to read code (e.g. count spaces in string literals)
- a different background, improving overall message readability
- and most of all preserve formatting, mainly indentation.
Your main() example may be acceptable if it spans a few lines only; make it 30 lines with nested loops/ifs and it is unreadable without PRE tags. Keep in mind there is a problem somewhere, that is why the message got created, so it should be rendered as readable as possible.
And what would be wrong or lost by putting your examples inside PRE tags? So lets make the rule simple, consistent and effective.
Instead of this

you would get this
