The DT_CALCRECT cannot be used with the DT_TABSTOP style. So please check whether your nAlign has DT_TABSTOP flag.

using GetTextExtentPoint() i got the width and height of the text...now how can i get
the rect using this width and height...

Hi,

In my application I need to control current the view of the folder opened in windows explorer.

User will start my application....He will also open a folder in the windows explorer. When he clicks a button in my application the view of the folder will change.(View means list,thumbnails,icon)

Please let me know where should i start?

Why not host the Explorer folder view in your own application[^]?

I may also need to implement keyboard shortcuts to the currently opened folder in the windows explorer to change views, so it cannot be hosted in my app.

Well, see, the trouble is that the concept of there being a single current folder open in Explorer (which you say is what you want to manipulate) is invalid. There may be any number of folders open in Explorer windows concurrently.

Try taking a step back and telling us what you're actually trying to accomplish with this - there may be ways other than the obvious, brute force method...

Well, My application will install a keyvboard hook. When user depresses a key the active folders view will change.

hi Guys,
I just shifted from Visual Studio to Eclipse for C,C++ programming.

I downloaded the newest version Galileo and C,C++ is working fine.

However are there plugins for Eclipse that you would recommend?

Like Flowchart designers or Code re factoring tools, you know some stuff that I should be aware of.

Last time I tried to use Eclipse (for C++ development) it was painly slow and (IMHO) deadly counter-intuitive. I know it is just a personal feeling (and I didn't deelve into), but, anyway...Good luck!

Yes, you may spawn as many threads as you like.

However, if you plan to use interfaces to COM servers created in the main thread you need to initialize COM in your other threads by calling ::CoInitialize(), or one of its equivalents, in order to setup COM for that thread and you will also need to marshal interfaces properly into the new thread.

Only in the case when UNICODE is not defined. The suggestion from Superman is better, it is independant of whether UNICODE is defined or not.

If you're entering values in a edit box, for instance, then you don't need such conversion at all: you may directly map a integer variable to the edit box content.

If you're using buttons to enter numbers, then why do you need a CString variable?
