Yes, my apologies for not clarifying earlier. The volume is successfully mounted, and visible from Nautilus, however basic system processes do not read it properly until i browse it. In Nautilus it appears as a media device, and after browsing to it once it gains an eject symbol.

An example of processes not being able to read it properly would be the VMWare services. When i launch the VMware management utility (Web based since I am using VMWare Server 2.0, however in all seriousness on windows machines i preferred 1.0.9, I simply figured a change of OS might also insinuate a change in pace to a more progressive outlook.) and it scans the Datastore pointing to the legacy partition it returns the values and properties of the filesystem partition. That is until I have browsed it, and it appears unlocked. I tell the utility to rescan the Datastore, and it will finally return the proper information. Either way, though, the VM in the inventory reads null, after this process, and it requires me to remove it from the inventory and re-add it before it can be utilized.

For some reason i get the feeling that I'm possibly missing something simple... or blatantly obvious to the experienced Linux user. Again thank you for taking the time to analyze this issue.
