I have done nothing to change the type but I thought since when the mouse goes on the box the arrow point automatically changes to text type pointer.
But somewhere I feel the box is not identified by the mouse .

i don't think what you need will automatically happen. you are not setting the cursor. you are setting the focus to the editbox. you can always hide the cursor but AFAIK changing the cursor to text type pointer is not possible

Hello Guys,
I was wondering, is it possible to rotate controls like text boxes or buttons in a specific dialog, or even rotating the whole dialog? What I am trying to do is making a windows mobile application, that has a button, when you press this button, the whole dialog - with its contents - should rotate by 90 degrees, or in other words become in landscape view, the problem is, I don't want to rotate the whole OS, I know that I can change the orientation of the device, but that will be very slow and won't be a good solution.
I have found some samples here in there that rotate a label or picture box, but not more complex controls or a whole dialog, I followed the steps to rotate a label or picture box to rotate a button or text box, but they didn't work out, and I don't know why.

Why? Can you tell us a bit more about your attempts?

OK Pallini, there was a number of possible ways to do that, the simplest is making your own control, by inheriting from the control's own class, such as from CEdit, and writing your own OnPaint function, also I tried to make a dll with a custom window procedure, and in the WM_PAINT message, I wrote the code that will paint the control rotated, but also it gave unexpected results. This dll attempt was the most successful one, I was trying on a button, the button was rotated, but its background was not, I don't know what is happening exactly, but the gray texture disappears and a white background appears on its place, but the gray texture's side is appearing on the edge of the white background, which means that the button was rotated !!

yes I saw this sample, as you can see it only rotates the dialog, and not the controls, but I didn't play with it yet, you know to try to modify the code to make it rotate the dialog and the controls, do you think something like that is possible?

Hi All
I am using the library function GetShortPathName to get the (windows)path name without spaces. Unfortunately this function is not working when I am compiling my output for x64 system
The function is returning some garbage values. If it is a library function, I guess it uses C Run-Time Libraries (CRT), then why would it be different from 32 bit libraries.
please note that my hard drive has NTFS and I can also see the short path name when I use the command dir /x .
please help

Well, it doesn't use the CRT, actually - it's part of the OS and the CRT is layered on top of it.
Have you thought of checking the return code? MSDN states this:
If the function succeeds, the return value is the length, in TCHARs, of the string that is copied to lpszShortPath, not including the terminating null character.
If the lpszShortPath buffer is too small to contain the path, the return value is the size of the buffer, in TCHARs, that is required to hold the path. Therefore, if the return value is greater than cchBuffer, call the function again with a buffer that is large enough to hold the path.
If the function fails for any other reason, the return value is zero (0). To get extended error information, call GetLastError.
Check the return value and (if it's zero), GetLastError, then repost.

Libxml2 is the XML C parser and toolkit developed for the Gnome project (but usable outside of the Gnome platform), it is free software available under the MIT License.
Goto the download page, download and try to use it.
