Although your English is very good, I am guessing that it is not your first language (your location also gives a clue). So FYI you might want to be a little careful about using the phrase:

Hello all!

I'm wondering if anyone has any idea to generate specific frequencies?

I am aware of Console.Beep(), but that plays through the PC-Speaker (Or Console Speaker, as it says in the tooltip)

I'm wondering if there's a way to do this to play through your regular sound device (Eg: Speakers / Headphones)

The easiest way I know of is to use the system.media.soundplayer class - admitedly this only plays .WAV files, but it should be easy to create the frequencies you want as individual files.

I was thinking of having a .wav file at a pre-set frequency, then somehow modifying the output frequency based on what the user inputs, then play that...

Also, I've realised that Googling "C#"+Piano (To look for an example of ones already made) has rather irritating results, as you might imagine Wink | ;)

System.Media.SoundPlayer has a constructor overload that has a Stream parameter[^] so you can construct your waveform in a MemoryStream and pass that to the SoundPlayer's constructor.

There is not such class in .Net that can accommodate 21 digit numbers yet (well, there is but it's internal). It will be available in .Net 4.0. Until that you will have to search for a third party class that provides such functionality - or write your own one Smile | :)

Hi, I'm rather new here and not sure if this is the right section to post this in. Anyways, I'm using VS2008 with MySQL and trying to connect a datagridview to a datasource. I have already been able to connect to the database and retrieve / insert data. When I click finish after choosing what database objects I want in the dataset, it throws an error for each table selected saying "could not get column information for database object named [insert table name]." I have searched Google, but have not been able to find anything. Any help resolving this would be great. Thanks.

I do not have a solution for your problem, but I would suggest the following:

1. I assume that you are using a third-party library for the MySQL part, so asking on their site might get a better response.
2. Post on the MySQL site, making sure that you mention the library you are using.

I'm not sure what you mean by third-party library. I am using MySQL Server 5.1, with MySQL Connector Net 5.1.7, and the MySQL ODBC 3.5 driver.

If those were not written/released by Microsoft, they are Third-Party Libraries.

The site for MySQL Connector Net says that it is known to work with VS 2003, no mention of more recent versions.

The point is, that by going to the site for the library for example[^], finding their support forum and asking your question there, you are more likely to get good quality replies. I would guess that most Devs using these fora are MS SqlServer users. I could be wrong, but I don't think so. On the MySql site I would guess most Devs would be MySql users. Therefore you are more likely to come to the attention of someone that knows the foibles/workings of a MySql product, on a MySql site.

Hi,
I have excel sheet in which i have a column contains more than 1000 word i am not been able to read the complete data, i have checked the dataset using breakpoint it shows only about 100 or so words. Is there any way so that i can read complete data from that cell in dataset.I have already serach on MSDN and Google but i couldnt found any thing related to this.

Hi All

We have a different which only has NetBIOS No TCP/IP available neither we can install TCP/IP. Now on that system there is a Server called as 'MAIN' whcih we can access using a DLL, but that DLL we can be used only in C++ we cannot use it in DOTNET.

Can anyone Suggest me or provide me some code as how to communicate with NetBIOS using DOTNET.

Please I am struggling with this thing from a Week and I am not getting any BreakThrough.

Most Dlls that are accessible from C++ can be accessed in .NET using a technique called P/Invoke. I would therefore suggest that you research this technique. There's lots of stuff out there for it.

Not knowing which Dll you are talking about, makes answering your question more difficult than it could be, but if it is netapi32.dll then it most certainly can be accessed from .NET.

In any event I Googled for 'netbios c#' and I got loads and loads of hits, so I would suggest that you Google Harder.

I could connect using netapi32.dll but here I am having one more DLL belonging to one of APIs we are using in c++, APILIB32.dll. I guess when I am trying to access this dll its not giving me proper result coz my send and recv functions for netbios are defined in this dll only and I am unable to send and recv data properly. Please let me know a proper way to use a c++ dll so that I can use the functions defined in it.

Any link directing to some similar problem would be highly appreciated as I did loads of googling which led me to use netapi32.dll but still finding me helpless in using my api dll (APILIB32.dll).
