Yes. It's window.cpp file the particular error occured. The function eventMouseDown is declared in its own header file(window.h). I've included window.h to window.cpp. I've also included the folder containing window.h to Tools->Options->VC++ Directories->Include. What should I do to resolve this error?

window.h relevant code (i.e. function prototype) - the
window.cpp relevant code (i.e. function definition)
?
BTW I would also try changing the header name (for instance mywindow.h).

I didn't see problems in your code. Is it the only error message you get? Did you try (as suggested) to change the header filename? Could you try too change slightly the function name?

Check your project properties in the Release and the debug mode for how they differ.
By the way what is the error that you receive?

Step 1: Open internet explorer
Step 2: type http://www.google.com. Hit Enter and the page for google opens
Step 3: Enter "sample named pipes C++" text in the search window
Step 4: Click "Search"

An error or an assertion? If that's an assertion, isn't there the filename and line number where the assertion is happening? Haven't you checked that? You are running a debug build or a release build?
I don't see how can you expect anyone to help you without providing any information that would be of use at all.

Is your program logging? If not, it's time to log in VERBOSE mode. With logs, or something as simple as a Debug output viewer[^] can work magic, can't it? At the very least, message boxes here and there? You first need to find out to what point the code reaches. Then you would know where it breaks.
If you can't figure this stuff out sitting right before the code, I think it must be difficult for the rest of the people on this forum with the details that you've given.
