i have dropdown list which contain the name of states and last option is other if user select the option other,then a textbox will apper on page and value save from textbox,how i will do? thanx in advance

you can do code to display the textbox on select index change event of dropdownlist.
like:
protected void DropDownList1_SelectedIndexChanged(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
if(DropDownList1.SelectedValue=="others")
{
// Code to display the textbox
}
}

Did you tried to implement it ? What problem are you faceing?
When user select the other from Dropdown lost, you can check it on Dropdown list selectedIndexChanged event, and on that time just make visible Textbox. And then save the data when you want. For unnecessry postback avoiding you can use Java script for that also.

i m doing in this manner

and for saving in database
if (DropDownList6.SelectedValue == "OTHER")

}
but the problem is that textbox will not apper on selection of others and null value saved at database

hi this happens with me ones and there is no need to be panic on that just try the code here is:

I think Telerik component is best for the grid and one more coponent DevXperience is also good for the grid.its depend on your clint web theme.

I am using GridView1 to populate records. But I have problem with Rows height of GridView1.
When GridView1 has more than 10 records then GirdView1 rows height is normal. But when the record count is one...Then Rows height goes bigger and bigger...
How to fix this issue?

what is the container of your Grid control ? Are you using any DIV to contain Grid ?

Hi all,
I am facing a strange problem to which I have no idea at all.I have created a website to be used with a sharepoint site.The website is running properly with all its functionalities.But whenever I try to display an image dynamically the image doesnt show up.Moreover,the same piece of code works fine for any other website but not for this one.That's what's driving me crazy.
I have tried the following things.
1>Response.write("")
2>Response.write("")
These codes work fine when used with any other website, but it's not working for my current website.Plz help me out.

try this:
1.use any preallocated asp:image on web page
2. if you dont want to show it on page load set visible prpert to false
3.try method of image.imageurl="~/Images/warning.GIF";
4. by some filtering of case sensitive keywords it can work fine for you
note:also if you dont set <asp:image.... xmlns:asp="#unknown">size it could take less space in visible=false form but when loading the new image on event fire the size of image is the max size of source image.

it is just an addon as we have firebug in firefox...
have you tried this one??

make sure javascript debugging is enabled in your browser options...
you will get debug option in browser and go for log javascript exceptions and you can further explore it..
