I've never tried this, but it sounds like a quirk. Unless the dataset itself (like the .XSD, etc) was copied, how would project 2 know the def. of the dataset, tables, tas, etc?

Probably have to copy over the dataset, which I would argue against. Copying and pasting duplicated code is a bad idea.

Thanks for your answer.
Actually the dataset and data source I created in project 2 with the same names as in the project 1 before I copied the datagridview to project 2.

Internally in the project 1 the datagrid was bound to the datasource and it was pasted with all properties set correctly, the columns collection with all settings and etc.

The tableadapter was inserted into the surface of project 2 by VS after I pasted the datagridview, with the same name.

It is strange, ist'n?

I guess if I was going to be really lazy. I'd create a new solution and copy all the source files from project 1 to project 2 (that way nothing is being reduplicated manually or being copied from open instances of VS); personally, this sounds whack. Add in all the existing source files. Change Form1 to whatever you want it to look like. Quick and dirty copied app w/ same functionality your looking for.

I am developing an application in vb.net2008,Sql Server 2005

But there is a problem while running my application on Customer Machine. It throws some security related issues Access Denied or so on....
And also my application does not run in Windows Vista.

I am changing in my app.manifest file like this ........

Hi all...

I am creating a simple database application program. I used VB.Net (VS2005) as frontend and SQL Server 2005 as backend. Now each time I run insert,delete or update query, it runs fine and shows changed made in application but it does not make permanently changes in database.

Suggest me what should I do to make permanent changes in database.

How are you doing this? Post some code.

Are you updating the database? Unless you do this, you will see the changes in dataset but not in DB.
