Hi ,
Im using a repeater controll in asp.net 2.0 , in that controll thee is a link button the the ItemTemplate of the repeter , although the we form is working fine on ym loca pc but while i delpoy it on the server it gives me this error :
Invalid postback or callback argument. Event validation is enabled using <pages enableEventValidation="true"/> in configuration or <%@ Page EnableEventValidation="true" %> in a page. For security purposes, this feature verifies that arguments to postback or callback events originate from the server control that originally rendered them. If the data is valid and expected, use the ClientScriptManager.RegisterForEventValidation method in order to register the postback or callback data for validation.
Please could any one direct me ? im populating my repeater like this :
If(!IsPostBack)
{
my repeater control gets populated from database();
}
Also i am using RepeaterItemDataBoudn and repeaters ItemCommand events , to trapp the event when the link button inside the repeater is cliked .But this click is not getting trap with the repeaters event while I had deploye the web form on the stagingin server , and is working fine on my local machine . Help required immediatly ive enabled EventValidation to treu as well ....

I know how to upload a file to a webserver with the asp:fileupload control. What I really need is:
1.Upload a html file (filupload)
2.Open the file and read the content to extract all the files path. (src) 3.Upload all the files to the server that were found on the html file.
The 3rd step is the one I can't figure it out. I have tried file.copy. It works fine if the files are on my local computer. If I choose a network drive i'm getting and error "Part of the file path is missing or wrong" and is because file.copy doesn't have rights read from a network drive. Fileupload does. (Same folder)

You can't do what you want because of two things:- The Web server (which usually is NOT on your computer) can't access the files on the client computer (which sometimes is your computer) except in the very rare circumstance of when the server and client are the same like in your development environment.
- You can't have a browser upload a file that the user hasn't specified. That would be a major security risk if you could.

So I installed IE8 and now can no longer debug on my local machine in VS 2005. Im in debug mode, with break points everywhere and they never are triggered. Ive rebuilt, restarted, rebooted, ect...
Additionally our companies website does not work because cookies are being blocked, even after I added the sites url to the Allow list in Internet Options. This stinks!
Anyone having similar problems??

what is that you want to debug? asp.net application? is the code you want to debug server side or client side code?

check your IE settings. Do you accept cookies?

Im just trying to debug a ASP.Net app, server side.
I have the browser setting set to low security, allow all cookies, and even added the domain to the allow list.

browser has nothing to do with server side code. The code does not run on the browser. So your issue has nothing to do with it.
Now, being IE, I don't rule out if it screwed up other applications. Check your development environments.

So with Visual Studio 2005 id try to run a web app in debug mode and it would start the app and run it in IE8, however VS would immediately dropout of debug mode leaving the IE window open. Technically, i could keep hitting "run" and popping new windows except the debugger would not remain attached to the process. I even tried to manually attach the debugger and it still would not hit break points.
I unistalled IE8 and went back to IE7... everything is working fine now. What gives?

Did you debug the Application? Try to debug yourself. Check the line where its throwing Exception.

hello,
i have an application developped under asp.net.
after the deployement of that application, my application run with the first page default.aspx
If i surf to another page and users.aspx, and if i copy the url from the addres bar and i put it in another browser the page appear without passing by the default.aspx.
can someone help me.

you have to redirect to default.aspx page when some one enter the url
directly.
put the condition when page load and check it for default.aspx

This is normal behavior.
Could you please what is your actual requirement? means what kind of restriction you want to give?

Of course it will. The answer to your question is in your own statement. Re-read what you wrote and you will figure it out.
You started on one machine with http://yourserver/default.asp then you navigated to users.aspx. Now you took http://yourserver/users.aspx and copied it to a different browser and you expected to go to default.aspx.
If that is what you want then in users.aspx you need to check if default was visted first, if not redirect them to defualt.aspx

go to your aspx page and write tag in the head part and put your code in script tag.
alternate you can make .js file and call it externally in your aspx page

Are you sure that its calling the JS file. Put a alert and test weather its calling properly or not.
Which Calender control are you using ? Are missing any CSS ?

I built a small learning site with a dal,a bll, a stored procedure,
a database ,a detailsview,and a gridview.
I want to be able to insert itemname,description,datelised,emailaddress,phonenumber,category,and
a picture. everything does what it is supposed to do except....the picture wont show in the gridview all i get is a box with a red x
I think i need some item inserted codebehind on the page that has the gridview (the detailsview is on a different page)
I have looked everywhere for a good example scott mitchells data access
seemed good but i cant get the image to show no matter what.....
