i got yhe solution . we jusr have to add trrigers on button on which we r saving the data of file upload control.this will also help.

I have a problem like this I make HtmlInputButtons in function and I add there EventHandlers for them. However when I do serverclick function does't work. I know that handlers should be in Page_Load but these buttons must be added in function.

example code:

use button class instead of HtmlInputButton(). It is always good use Asp button when you use server side codes.

repeater repeats the html that you provide inside it. You can evaluate the data from inside the repeater to get the current data objects.

I have two dropdown in my form called Project and Company. First dropdown will list the projects and on the basis of projectid, company dropdown is filled.

Inorder to avoid going back to database again, I have framed an sql query in such a way that it will give the projectid, projectname, companyid and company name in one shot. By default, the first projectid will get selected. Now how will I populate the company dropdown with this projectid without using another query? The data is already fetched. How should I store and retrieve the data so that I can use it again?

Any idea of this? Hope you have cleared my question. Please help.

Well! auto post back causes the page to be posted back to the server after an event has occurred. For E.g For a drop down if the page has to be posted back if an option has been selected then we can use AutoPostBack = true for that control. Using this property we need not write the _doPostBack() method in Javascript.( actually .NET inserts this method when we use AutoPostBack = true.)

I am trying to use Message Box on click of a button which is inside update panel, but I am not getting the alert message while I am trigger - postback on click of that button(I have tried async postback also i.e. not working also). I want to know, will it work inside update panel or not. Please guide me if I am wrong.

Hi,

I am in VS 2005, asp.net with C#. I show my crystal report in my web page. I can show my crystal report well in my local machine. But in my server, it is not working properly. Reports options such as Export, Print, Next page, previous page, etc, these toolbox images are not displaying.

My report is working fine in my machine by executing the application and deploying the setup both.

While creating the setup, I've included .Net Framework 2.0, Crystal Report for .Net fw 2.0 and VS 2005 report viewer in the prerequisites. Anybody can help me to show the images properly. Thanks in adv.

check the aspnet_client folder. Place it in the project root folder.

In the Default.aspx.vb is have following coding:

But the response of message box is not coming on client machine, it is sending the response to server machine. How to get the respose on the client machine not at server machine.

You are running your application from VS IDE. Try to host on IIS, access from browser and from different system
As amandeep already suggested, you have to use JavaScript Confirm Box.

Thanks Abhijit for your response. Actually before this i was running my web application on server itself; but yesterday when i run from another machine; i got that messagebox's response was not at client side; it was as server machine, so i supposed that there should be extra code for messagebox or javascript confirm box. So please tell me, where and what should i code to get confirm box when user click on delete link of GridView1 control.

Hi, all.

I know there is list view control for using at window form in C#.

in order to use it, I can add easily list view control in C#.

and there are drag and drop, drag enter, drag over and drag leave events in property of list view control.

But!! I can't use that in webform, asp.net.

maybe..is there any control like list view control usable in asp.net??

well, drag and drop facility is browser specific. so there is no such event which will trigger in the server if browser drag takes place.

Its true browser DOM has limited functionalities than Windows forms....
You have to use normal Dropdownlist only, or create a custom control that suits your need.

Hi, Iam usin a datagrid in my form. I have to display the photos from the database. I acheive it.

But I want to display the photos Row wise. Like 5 photos in first row and 5 in second like wise.What to do for it? Can anyone suggest idea?
