2. My OS is Win XP+SP2 . Have searched the net for the same, but i guess this combination does not hold true for either VS2008 OR for Win XP SP2.

Basically, you may use the wss Lists webservice
or
by using the sdk, you may use something like:
SPList list = site.Lists("LISTNAME");

Hello there,
I have recently got web space which unfortunately does not support server side Java and I want to use Java with JSPs to construct an application.
My problem is the compiling of the JSP files, which as far as I understand need a compiler such as Tomcat to output correctly to screen. When I access a *.jsp file with HTML code within it then I literally just get the code with the HTML tags in my browser.
Is there a way around this or any similiar alternatives that could help me out other than changing my web space and sticking with Java and JSP?
Any help with this is greatly appreciated!

So you want to write server side code, but you have a hosting solution that doesn't support the language that you want to write in. Get a new hosting solution...

I have a WebMethod and its return DataSet. How can I get DataSet in the JQuery?
If web method return object (class) so; I use this code;

Hi all,
Im using tinymce textarea control in the asp.net model popup extender ajax control.
While clicking on a link in the page, popup will display and in that popup tinymce is one of the control.
In IE6 and mozilla 3.0 tinymce control working fine, but in safari 3.1 in the popup tinymce control is showing but unable to access. Im unable to write text in the text area.
If I use tinymce control directly in the page it is working fine in all the browsers.
Please suggest for any solution.

Why in the world you want to add WebBrowser control in asp.net page?
By the way if you are able to add it on the page, it will only work for IE and not for other browsers. Seems like you don't know where WebBrowser control is used? It is generally used to display a web page in Windows Forms App.

Hi
I have a very wried prob... i have an aspx page with a text box and a button. On click of button i call a function CodeCheck() in javascript which does some validations and if the result is true opens a new page. i used window.location.href="my page" for opening the page.
I have also used onkeypress="if(event.keyCode==13){return CodeCheck();};" in the form so that if the user presses enter key it must have the same functionality as the button click.
Now the prob is when i click the button the page opens well but when i press the enter key it opens the existing page. i have no idea why this is happening.
If i use Window.Open() it works fine but i cannot use it since it opens in a new page.And i want my page to open in the existing one only... Can someone please help

Set window.location.href = "http://www.google.com/" and try if it opens the google correctly then there may be something wrong with your url.

There is nothing wrong with URL. "keypress" is an event that can be cancelled and can bubble. So you have to pay attention to what value you return from your event handler. I am assuming that you are not returning anything from "CodeCheck()" function.
Try this..
function CodeCheck() {
window.location.href = "http://www.byteblocks.com";
return false;
}
You will need to some more work in keypress even handling to decide cancellation of event.

Hi there,
when we rewrite url for example,
http://mysite.com/default.aspx?page=hello-world
to something like this -
http://mysite.com/default/page/hello-world
My concern is when somebody bookmarks or directly hits the rewritten URL (http://mysite.com/default/page/hello-world), does that work?
