Hello all,

With the release of Microsoft.NET, as a user I have a few concerns...

1. With your data being stored on a "central computer," can't it be either watched over and picked through by Big Brother/Sister, regardless of whether it's password-protected? I tend to like having control over my data files so I know that they're private. Smile | :)

2. The Justice Department now has most perfect fodder for their argument that Microsoft is a huge monopoly; look how it's using its hand-developed technology to dominate the Internet and push out competitors! They haven't even release full specs and details to the developer community about XML and SOAP yet, and irregardless of their promises to do so, you can bet that they know fully how to use their technology, and they aren't going to really tell developers until they've made cool products themselves. Smile | :)

Before we all rush to embrace this new technology, let's stop and think for a minute if it's going to be productive to do so in spite of the fact that Microsoft always beats us to the finish line every time... Smile | :)

Cheers,
Brian Hart
