We are trying to send SMS messages from PC using Sony Ericcson K580i mobile through Hyperterminal. But, I am unable to send the message as it gives COM+ Error. Here are the details which we followed:
1) Connected to PC using USB Port
2) Configured Hyperterminal and able to communicate with the mobile and able to give a call.
3) using Hyperterminal enter the below commands

OK
at+cmgf=0
+CMGF: 0
Note: Here SMS sending in PDU Format
4)Next tried to send message: Here my Service Provider is Airtel and there SMSC number is: +919845087001 and recpient number is: 919845467289
and trying to send message "hellohello". So I did tried to send the message in the following PDU format:
at+cmgs=20
0011000C911989546427980000AA0AE8329BFD4697
and got error message: +CMS ERROR: 304.
So, please anyone guide me and let me know what mistake i'm doing. Yours help is really appreacited.

Your question is a little vague in that you don't give any information on the component you wish to reuse. A possible interpretation of your question is that you have developed a portion of business logic designed to run on a desktop or server and you want to copy that DLL to a mobile device. If that is what you are planning to do then it won't work (it is possible to develop a component targetting the Compact Framework and run it on a desktop without recompilation, but that's not practical). If this doesn't answer your question please give more information on this component and how you need to use it.

Hi,
I wrote an application that able to connect another bluetooth device in .Net Framework 2.0 using bluetooth API, now I want to do this with .Net Compact Framework on my mobile device. That's the problem, When I'm Calling Bluetooth API like WSAStartup or using SizeOf or any other methods of Marshal class, it gives me NotSupportedException exception.
Please tell me how can i solve this problem.

my project requires sending a string of data from PC to a mobile
the MOBILE service provider i use uses a WAP GATEWAY so i cannot connect to it
becoz the IP address of the mobile is hidden behind the gateway
so i changed it to that the mobile will connect to the PC
i am able to establish the connection and the string of data is going to PC
but the response i.e " data recieved"
should be sent but how do i send the repsone
plz tell me becoz i do not know the IP ADDRESS OF THE MOBILE ???
plz help me with code if u can becoz i am new to J2ME or plz explain me the logic atleast

In another article[^] I had to make the device send an e-mail with GPS coordinates upon receiving a special SMS message. The code to do that looked like the following. I've removed some code from this to make it simpler but you need to adapt this to your needs. Note that a device can have multiple accounts and you need to identify the account that you want to use.

Well I tried, compiling was ok, but the linker said that can't find ExtTextOutA.

Windows Mobile is based on Windows CE OS, which was Unicode based from day one. The ANSI versions aren't available.

Hi all,
I written the below code with the purpose to sort several string-arrays and two ComboBox.Items.
It's important to precise that I only want to change the order with witch them are stored (in arrays) or displayed in ComboBox.Items (not to sort them alphabetically).
It's also important to precise for Lat1 and Lon1, I input them in TextBox3, using the "." (dot) separator. Using ",", return me an error.
Well, the following code works perfectly (as I espected from it) in emulator of English VS 2005, but doesn't works perfectly in real device (PPC Windows mobile 2003 SE).
I obtain in ComboBoxes. items a not correct and different order of items.
I am almost sure that cause of the problem is the different Language of device (Italian) because the logic of the code is correct, but I don't know how to resolve it.
Italian language use the comma "," as decimal delimitator, instead of the dot.
Can someone help me, please?

Hello,
I maintained a program on the mobile device. (OS is wm 5)
The program has a dialog window, the dialog window contains some user-defined listboxes.
And the listbox has check marks and a vertical scroll bar.
If I clicked the up arrow and the down arrow on the scroll bar. The listbox can be scrolled successfully.
But if I dragged the scroll, sometimes the contents of the listbox is disappeared, but sometimes the contents still exists.
In my opinion, the function OnVScroll() must been existed in the program.
But after search within the program, I didn't find a function like OnVScroll to process the scrolling message.
So I thought the scroll message mighe be handled automatically by the OS.
But if the system automatically handle the scroll message, why sometimes success and sometimes fail ?
Then I searched the string "scroll" in whole project. The related result which I found only are
in .rc file :

Hi guys,
I am developing a smart device application in visual studio 2005. I need to connect the compact device (PDA) to a mysql database which is supposed to be on another computer in the same office. Don't know how to do it. Is there a direct way to access it using oledb provider for mysql (if any) or i have to create a web service and use it? Please help me by providing the code for connectivity.

WinCE certainly supports services. There is one great article about them in MSDN[^]
I don't know of any WinCE Logger. I usually open a file and append data to it. You can do this from a service - watch out for synchronization situations.

Here's the issue:
I'm painting a gradient background on a dialog via WM_PAINT.
For static controls to look transparent, we capture WM_CTLCOLORSTATIC and return a NULL_BRUSH.
This far all looks great, until a MessageBox hovers over any of the static controls - then their backgrounds do not get repainted, and instead end up looking pretty junky.
The controls are dynamically created / destroyed based on user input, so sub-classing them would be a painful workout.
The app is a wizard-type interface controlled by a script file, using just one dialog resource with a BACK and NEXT button for navigation.
I've tried just about all I can think possible to repaint the areas that get overlapped, but so far, nothing is working. I have verified that the WM_CTLCOLORSTATIC gets called during a 'need-to-paint' and I try to re-gradient the controls RECT from there, but that is not working..
Need some help-
(btw) I have a global memory DC containing the gradient image and use BitBlt to update the invalidated areas.

I am running a WinCE6.0 Stream interface Driver on a DTE device which will open a handle to Serial port which is
connected to a modem.WriteFile API returns non-zero Value, but NumberofbytesWritten parameters is coming as Zero.
The Windows CE 6.0 device is a DTE terminal and when connected to PC (Another DTE)) over NULL Modem cable with hyperterminal, all the data from the are seen on the hyperterminal, and WriteFile API fills the NumberofbytesWritten is exactly the same as the
bytestoWrite.
When the CE6.0 DTE device is connected to DCE Modemdevice using a Straight serial cable, WriteFile API
is succedding by returning Non-Zero Value, but NumberofbytesWritten parameters is coming as Zero.
The following is the DCB in the driver:

Also, with the same hyperterminal setting with PC(Hyperterminal) connected to Modem over Straight SErial cable,
I am able to fire the AT Commands from the PC(hyperterminal) to the modem.
Also CommTimeout, I have set the following:

CT.ReadTotalTimeoutMultiplier = 0;
CT.ReadTotalTimeoutConstant = 0;
CT.WriteTotalTimeoutMultiplier = 0;

-Can a timeout issue cause WriteFile Still succeed and Numberof Bytes Written as zero?
- In hyperterminal Flow Control None, what are the Flow control affected in the DCB?
Can somebody give me some hints on the same.
