In my VB.net Programme I generate a PDF using crystal report which retrieves data from database containing about 700 to 1000 pages. Each page contain so many amount of fields, so takes 2 or 3 minutes depending upon machine. So I like add a progressBar .But how to develop it. Please anybody me to design he code.

hi,
you dont need to develop one, it comes in the tool box within vs.
drop the control onto your form as you would for any other control.
here's what i set on the controls properties...
Maximum - The total number of pages you have.
Minimum - should be zero
use the step property to increment the progress bar until it the output...
alt,
you can set the pbar as a marquee which runs continuosly until you stop/hide it...

The only progress bar you can use to do this is one that doesn't progress. I mean you can show one that constantly scrolls.
You cannot use a 0 to 100% progress bar because Crystal Reports, last I checked, does not expose any progress information. So, there's no way of knowing how far along it's gotten.

if you were to know the final file size (say from an earlier run), and you are willing to use some native code to get to the current size of a file while it is being written, you could come up with a reasonable progress indication, at least something better than an "I'm at it" or "lets pretend I'm at it".

just a quick question how do i measure the level of the line in jack of my sound card ? ie the signal level coming in .
what i want to achieve is to triger an recording event once music is present on the line in jack.
im guessing im going to have to use a reference dll ect .
has anyone atempted this or could provide a simple example .

Hi
I want to get an item from listitem containing some particular text. Using "FindItemWithText" we can do but, this will get all the items that contains the particular text. But I want exact search.
For ex:
The following are the items in listitem:
201, 100, 2, 150
When I search for item "2", I am getting 201 with "FindItemWithText" as 201 contains 2. How can I get the Item "2"?

Well, there's no exact match function, so, you can still use that search to return a smaller result set, then do your own string comparison, item-by-item, to find the one that matched exactly.
Or, skip searching the ListView and just search the underlying dataset that you used to populate the ListView yourself.

You can add an 'object' to the listview (as well as the combobox). Therefore you can add a key/item pair to the the listview and get the value based on the key. You have to cast the listview.currentitem to the object type (IE: keyvalue pair).

I doubt very much that it is possible, unless oracle forms have changed significantly int eh last few years. Have you tried any oracle forums?

Like Ashfield said, you could try Oracle forums. Also there's a difference if the product is Oracle Forms (PL/SQL based) or Oracle JDeveloper (Java based).

Sure. If it's a COM-based library, then you can add a reference to it in your projects Properties. If it's not COM-based, then you'll have to use P/Ivoke to get at the functions exported by the library. Google for "vb.net pinvoke" for examples.

It's done the same way. If you just put "VB" in your post somewhere, everyone will assume you're talking about VB.NET, not VB6.
