Hi,
I m trying to put ajax timer control in griview. The gridview is in update panel. I have added an asynchronous post back trigger on Tick event of timer in which I m calling gridview bind so as I can update the time regularly.
I have a function which calculates the time left(its an count down timer).
But doing this the whole pages is being refreshed and also the ticks are not smooth, I mean ticks are running as 2,4,6,3 not like 1,2,3,4 and so on.
Any suggestion???

I have this website layout (3 columns)
container is a div that contains leftColumn, content and rightColumn
In IE, the site looks fine with the background image, but in Firefox the image doesnt show up
Any suggestions??

As always when there is a difference in the rendering between Firefox and Internet Explorer, Firefox renders the code correctly, and Internet Explorer renders it incorrectly.
As you only have floating elements in the #container element, there is nothing that gives it any height. As the height becomes zero, you don't see the background image.
There is a rendering error in Internet Explorer that makes the #container element grow to the size of it's children, eventhough they are all floating elements and should not affect the size of the parent.
Specify a height for the #container element, of put a clearing div after the three others. You can use this style for the clearing div:

height: 0;
overflow: hidden;
}
Specifying the overflow is needed because of another rendering bug in IE. Without it, IE will always make the element at least one character high, even if you specify a smaller height.
Despite everything, the person most likely to be fooling you next is yourself.

Actually, i had a footer after the container, and i just moved the footer inside the container as well and added the clear
And i was thinking that IE was rendering right and that it was a firefox problem

That is a common misconception. 
I think that it comes from the combination of several factors; that IE happens to be the most common browser at the moment, that microsoft has chosen to make it accept a lot of non-standard code, and that it interprets some code in a manner that is more logical in some ways but still is non-standard.
Despite everything, the person most likely to be fooling you next is yourself.

Hello All,
I am beginner in ASP .NET
I had used SQL2000, GridView and SQLDataSource. While creating SQDataSource1 query was mentioned "Select top 5 EmployeeId, FirstName from Employee". As page is loaded it show data without error.
Now I had added button on its click event I had used mentioned query "Select top 5 ProductId, ProductName from Product".
My question is can again GridView can be bind with DataKeyNames. If yes how can i do it. I had try code in vb & c#. Please help.

hi,
do you want to bind the grid with product columns now? I think not possible, I think you should call a user control on click event, use grid view on that control and bind your product columns on that.

but no row was selected.

Hy,
I have created a email page by using the following code
MailMessage msg = new MailMessage();
msg.To = txtTo.Text;
msg.From = txtFrom.Text;
msg.Subject = txtSubject.Text;
msg.Body = txtContent.Value;
lblStatus.Text = "Sending...";
SmtpMail.Send(msg);
but when i run the page the mail is not sent....
do i have to use SmtpMail.SmtpServer for sending the mail?
plz help...

first of all you have to Configure your SMTP Server for sending mail.

You can't do like this, because its take only type of MailAddress or MailAddressCollection object.
So use
msg.To=new MailAddress(TxtTo.Text)
For sending Mail
SmtpClient _smtServer=new SmtpClient("MyServer");
_smtServer.Send(msg);

I configured the SMTP but it didnt help...I found a virtual directory where a default setting was present ..on tracking i found all my mail where stored in a folder(C:\Inetpub\mailroot\Queue)..and were not sent to the mail..what sholud i do in order to send them?
you suggested me a code..
SmtpClient _smtServer = new SmtpClient("MyServer");
when i used this i get an exception that mail sending failed..

Hy,
i changed Myserver to local host and de mail got stored in C:\Inetpub\mailroot\Queue..
i created a new remote domain and named it gmail.com ..And dn i added "RemoteServer" instead of MYSERVER .itz execution was sucessful..But again it went and got stored in.C:\Inetpub\mailroot\Queue.. (if i want to send my mail to gmail.com what should i do?)..Do i have to use sum other server for dis?or server permission is required?

Hi,
I have placed and asp:Timer control in gridview and the whole gridview is inside an update panel.
I m getting error that the timer control needs a scriptmanager on the page. I have the scripmanager on the masterpage.
When I m creating the timer control outsite the gridview its working nice.
When running the code the updatepanel trigger is throwing error that control with id of the timer is not found.
Can anyone help??
