Basically i m creating a web based installer where users will create database and execute sqlscript on there hosting server, that y i need hosting server ip, uid, pwd from user.
The create database dbname will run for the first time to create the database then executing sqlscript will create structure in that database.
thats y i m confused how to create DB on the fly.
Any help will be appreciated.

You can take the IP of the server from the user (hosting server must give rights for installing) along with user name and password. And run your scripts to generate database by calling a web service resident on your server.

It sounds to me like what you need is a custom action dll that can be called by the installer to create the database. Custom actions DLLs are added to the WebSetup Project using Custom Actions Editor. You will also need to use the User Interface Editor to add some dialog that allow the user to enter some of the parameters like uid, pwd. The installer will then use the parameters to access/run the database scripts

Hi to All,
I am trying to send email using the following code
Dim MMsg as MailMessage = New MailMessage(FromEmailID, ToEmailID, Subject, BodyMessage)
MMsg.Priority = MailPriority.High
Dim smtp As SmtpClient = New SmtpClient(SMTP.MyServer.com, PortNumber)
smtp.Send(MMsg)
While sending mail to xyz@MyServer.com it works fine but whenever I am sending mail to xyz@Otherserver.com (eg. Gmail, yahoo) then it gives following error.

Mailbox name not allowed. The server response was: sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)

Now coming to your point of conversion there are many pdf creators available on net. Just search google and use the one which fulfills your needs. If you don't like searching google you can search codeproject for it. I read an article somewhere on code project which described the conversion.

I am using safari 3.1.2 browser. I have problem with getting selected range object in safari.
for IE i used the function
document.selection.createRange();
it is working fine.
for sarafi i used the function
window.getSelection().getRangeAt(0)
but it always return the selected text not the range object.
I am in serious problem. Please help me.

I just got done installing everything I need for Visual Web Deveoloper 08 Express and realized that most of the starter kits out there are still for 2.0. Anyone know where I can find a selection of web developement starter kits for 3.5? I reeeeally dont wanna convert from Vista back to XP  ... Please tell me these exist somewhere and possibly a link to them. Thanks all.

2.0 projects can be opened in VS08. You don't need to go back to XP.

I have a page that processes xml files. After processing, it then should move the files to a different location - thats not working now.
It uploads the files fine, processes them - but doesn't move. The message says: "Unable to find the specified file".
The code I am using is:
file.MoveTo(@"D:\MyArchive\badfiles\" + file.Name);
Here file is FileInfo object. The directory where I am trying to move it is a shared location, and the user have write permission.
Any idea why its failing?

Step into the code and check value of "D:\MyArchive\badfiles\" + file.Name. Make sure the file exists.

When I do that (Stepping into), it shows me a different path for the file - C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common7....looks like its searching for the file in this location, whereas the file is located where I saved it during download.
So, how can I fix it?

Ideally I was looking for a GridView_UpdatedRowStyle Property. Doesn't appear to be available on the GridView. How can I indicate that a gridview row has been previously selected and or edited/updated? I would prefer to have a different color line such as the SelectedRowStyle.BackColor property.

I don't think that gridview supports this. You can subclass gridview and make your own control with necessary properties.
