I think this library[^] is about as basic as it gets from what I remember (without writing your own).

Hi,
I'm currently developing a c# windows application program which allows me to crop certain part of the image when i select it. But if I got a bigger image than the currently picturebox height and width(e.g. picturebox size(400,300) Image opened size(700,300), I tried to use the StretchedImage property to make it fit into the picturebox but when i crop it crops the original size of the image not the image in the picturebox when I use
Bitmap previewImg = newImg.Clone(rect, initialImg.PixelFormat);
my rect is the rectangle that i selected using Mouse Down and Mouse Up events. Hope I could get some help on this thanks =)..

I get the following error message when trying to setup 1000s of tables and a list of these tables in an SQL table.
//err.Message = "Microsoft SQL Native Client: Not enough storage is available to complete this operation."
I then have to stop and restart the program about 5 times to complete the operation. Is there anything I can do to bypass restarting the program. It doesn't appear that I am running out of memory (from a separate program which monitors my memory).
Any clues / suggestions.

Are you disposing all the objects you are using? Most of the ADo.NET classes has a Dispose method. Calling that when you finished using it will release the unmanaged resources immediatly.

If not, any thoughts how to achieve it? Basically i want to pass the value of Property as parameter to Attribute.

Attributes are determined at compile time so cannot contain a run time value.

I suppose you could use Reflection to get the attribute and set values on it, but I've never tried it.

I am displaying the following properties inside the propertyGrid Control. What I want to do is that if i click inside the ID filed then display a Messagebox. If i click inside the Name field i want to display another Messagebox.
What I have done
GridItem itm = propertyGrid1.SelectedGridItem;
how can i get the control inside the Griditem. So I can add a click event to the label or textbox

I have an application that is connected to some external sources (text and image files). I refer to these sources through their full path. The sources are located in the same folder as the application (the executable).
Whenever I move the folder which contains the application and the sources to another directory, the sources are (for natural reasons) unreachable if I don't change the path in the source code.
I would like to know if there is a way to point directly to the containing folder of the application and the sources so I (or someone else) can run the application correctly from whatever directory without having to change the path in the source code or moving the folder to a specific directory.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

You can either use:
- Application.StartupPath
- use single dot syntax (current directory) like ".\subfolder\interestingfile.xyz"

I am trying to build a simple windows app that copies files from a network location to my local hard drive. I have tried to use
1 - network path
File.Copy(@"\\Mycomp\C$\PROJECTS\Test.txt", @"F:\Test.txt");
2 - a mapped drive to \\Mycomp\C$\
File.Copy(@"Z:\PROJECTS\Test.txt", @"F:\Test.txt");
I always get an IOException
"Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password".
My computer is on its own workgroup and runs vista, the computer I am trying to copy from has Windows XP and is on a domain. I have full access to that XP machine, I can navigate to \\Mycomp\C$\PROJECTS just fine using windows explorer...
Any help will be greatly appreciated !!!

Chances are the issue has to do with the administrator account. As far as I understand, VS runs as administrator under most Vista installations. This means that your application will run under administrator when it's run in debug mode. The local administrator has all the authority it needs on the local authority, but is completely unrecognized on the remote machine. Ensure you're running the application under the correct account.
