I used to work for a branch office of a company and the branch was not doing well and there was talk of it being shut down and this great guy I worked with who was our head sales guy always would shrug it off and grin and say "I was looking for work when I got this job".

Which always stuck with me as an excellent attitude to have in all manner of things.

Of course he was brilliant and knew everyone and could get work in about 10 seconds (and ultimately did when the branch shut down the day after we got tired of the whining and iniquities from head office and pre-emptively all quit the same day one after another using the same cell phone sitting outside a Starbucks after deciding we couldn't take the constant motivational technique of telling us that they just didn't know how long they could keep the branch going despite us cutting costs constantly and working our fingers to the bone and bringing in good numbers. I still get a warm glow thinking about the boss sputtering on the phone when his motivational tactics came crashing down around him. Good times! Wink | ;) )
