The behavior is perfect - the "first" link must be disabled, because you were already on the first page when it was loaded. Now the stale page has no way of knowing that there were new posts.

Neither will I want a static page on my disk to poll continuously to check for new posts, just for the sake of enabling the "first" link.

You can just hit the F5 button to reload the page, but that's just my opinion. Smile | :)

I'd beg to differ; in the context of a static dataset, the usage of the 'first' link is fine. However, this is a dynamic set of data and as such should be provided with some application managed process for refreshing the current view of that data.

Perhaps semantically, the usage of the 'first' button is correct though this only means that I am suggesting a 'refresh' button / link instead.

We do have a "refersh" link, aligned to the center, whereas the first/next links are on the right side. Look again. Smile | :)

Im ot sure if it is only me
But i tryed with ie and firefox
The asp.net forum has a layout problem, the left column is twice as wide as shoul be, and there is a lot space "blank"
This is only in the asp.net forum

This post is all about improving the existing bookmark feature.

When I bookmark (an article or a forum post), show me a small box right away, where I can type in some text about why I am bookmarking it (can I call it BookNotes? bookmark + notes -> buzzword hall of shame stuff).
Allow me to add tags to the stuff that I bookmark. BookTags, you know.
If you do it both, then I'll ask you that I must be able to specify an option on "where" to perform a search (a search for "Win32_DiskDrive" on the bookmarks, but look only into the tags, or in the notes, or everywhere).
After the search is complete, I must be able to sort it by tags, date, and other goodies.

I know I'm slightly being PITAish, but this feature set would be cool.

ASP.NET forum navbar problem

When browsing through the ASP.NET forum, the left navigation bar appears to be widened due to the page numbers etc being placed in the navbar column as opposed to under the forum posts - the problem doesn't appear to affect any of the other forums, however.

Apologies if it's already been reported.

If the display name is set to some color, then the profile page displays some standard text in the same color.

For an example, this user ^ prefers his name to be displayed in 'candy pink', and some text in the profile page, which is a part of the site has turned pink too.

Of course, I was under an impression that CP handled invalid HTML automatically. I was shocked to see a 'pink' page.

Bullets to use in formatting

Tried to search this on suggestions, but didn't find.

So could it be possible to have formatting which would translate to bullets. Sometimes the problem with minus character is that if the text is long and wrapped to several lines, it's hard to see where the bullets are unless line breaks and indentations are manually added.

What I'm looking for is something like:

- Text for the first bullet that goes over the right border
and continues on another line
- And so on...

Especially if the indentation is kept inside a single bullet between wrapped rows.

As an example, if single bullet has a long text, didn't figure how to use ul to keep indentation so that bullet is in it's *own column*. For example:

0) I was trying to search the loung for Chris's vacation announcement, and on the search page, I specified 1 Aug 2008 through 12 Sep 2008, and put in Chris's name. It came back with no results.So I put in 1 Aug 2007, and it STILL came back with no results. I call that "broken". By the way, I didn't specify any text to look for.

1) The calendar control is hopelessly screwed up. If you want to specify a moth other than the current one, you have to manually type it into the text field because the GUI control won't let you select it (it drops down and when you click the desired month, the control simply goes away.
