I've got a client application which defines a class that has a CultureInfo Porperty, now if i try to pass this class as Parameter to my Webservice the engine says "System.Globalization.CultureInfo cannot be serialized because it does not have a default public constructor.
".
But CultureInfo is marked as [Serializable], where's the problem and how to fix it ?

U mean like a source on decoding the audio? u can perhaps look at winmm.dll and maybe do something from there... or DirectSound (the VB wrapper) or u can wait for DX9 , which will work alot like nBASS (I actually had a look a few days ago at beta 2's managed functions and its pretty similar).
For most things you will be needing a 3rd party library, just like YOU are using MS .NET as a 3rd party library for applications, etc. If u get what i am saying.

If you remember you could use blinking in MS-DOS without timer.

In Windows, GDI+ can draw on a surface (window, bitmap etc). But a window cannot redraw itself (to draw another blinking state) after some time without using timer!
You can also create a c# control that will redraw itself with timer. It won't do any mess in your app, and will work great! That depends on what kind of blibking element do you need.

One not so obvious thought would be if a animated GIF and Picturebox control would work for your situation. It is not direct GDI+ but does allow for animation (blinking if desired).

ME I want to make my own script language using C# but the user can Add a function call AddFile(param1,param2) and then me I have already declare the function in C# to make action for AddFile
Anyway I will try to read more about VSA.

Hi,
does anybody knows how to use list controls in virtual mode with C#? 
In unmanaged C++ this is done by setting the LVS_OWNERDATA style and
handling the according notifications.

Hi!
I think you can put your worker Thread function in a seperate class. Then you can initialize your class any way you like (with your "parameters") and set the ThreadStart delegate of your thread to the appropriate method in your class.

hello everyone,
i'm not sure if this is the right area but here goes. i've been tasked to create a web-site in c# that does several data related things, but the most important section is this part they call "the data import tool" ( yeah real catchy.. ) any whoo.. the idea behind this piece is the user would be able to create datasources that are basically just like ODBC DSN's, in that you select a type and depending on the type you fill out some info (i.e. ip address, login name, database name). this connection will allow the main site to take a search term and query across these different datasources. my question is, is this even possible? then if it is can it be done with c#. i've posted a quick sketch of what they are looking for at this address : http://www27.brinkster.com/jtucker/data.htm
