Hi.
i'm trying to debug some problem on a code which i didnt wrote.
what happends is that when i execute a c# based process (lets call him mfProcess), one of my log file is locked by it (lets call him mfLog.log)
the file is unlocked before i execute mfProcess.
by debugging ,i stoped at the first line of code of mfProcess, but the file has been already locked, which means something happends from the time i run the exection command (the file is free) and the first line of the mfProcess code(the file is locked.
have any ideas?

Then it's not a DLL initialization problem. It's more likely that you're using the class incorrectly, and that the assembly is written poorly.
When you add a reference to the assembly in your project, you can see discover the API by right clicking on the reference and selecting "view in object browser". After looking around a bit in there, you may be able to find out what you're doing wrong.
Beyond that, there's no way we can help you resolve the problem.

Hi,
I am using prnadmin.dll to add a shared printer on to a remote machine. The printer gets added but it is not shared.
Do you see anything wrong with this code please?
printer and printMaster are dedclared as PRNADMINLib.Printer and PRNADMINLib.PrintMaster respectively.
printer.ServerName = "\\\\remoteMachineName";
printer.Network = 1;
printer.ShareName = "printerName";
printer.PrinterName = "printerName";
printer.Shared = 1;
printMaster.PrinterAdd(printer);
Any thoughts please?

From your code it does not look like you are checking for errors. Maybe, or just perhaps, that will tell you what is going on.

No error is reported because the printer does get added but not as shared.

Hi.
I'm building an application in winform environment that have a Tabcontrol in it.
That tabcontrol should have multiple lines in it.This can be done by setting the multiline property in the control.
But what i have trouble in is ordering the tabpaged in the control in a custom order.
for example , i want the first row to have 4 tabpages, second row 10 tabpages and so on....
can i accomplish that task without altering the tabpages width that causes
the tabpages to slide off to the next row?

how can i keep a connection open while repeat declaring sqlcommands using it.
con.open
while condition = true
{
sqlcom = new sqlcommand("select statement", con)
//con.close(); //ref below
sqlcom.dispose();
}
this while block will throw an error:the connection is already in use. so i have to close it like the commented block. i dont want to keep closing and opening the connection while it loops(more than a 1000 times). how best can i solve this.
My idea was to keep the connection open but i dont know know how to do it without getting the error.

If you use a data reader to read the result from the command, the connection is in use until you have closed the data reader. If you want to reuse the connection in a loop, you have to read the result and close the data reader inside the loop.

Yes, with the small modification that you close the data reader outside the loop that is using it.
As long as the data reader is open, you can't reuse the connection.

You don't have to worry about that. In .NET connection pooling is turned on by default. Even if you call the Close() method, the runtime leaves it open just in case it will need to be used again.

I've a WindowsFormsApplication project and I wish to use Office components in it.
For example, Consider the PlainTextContentControl which belongs to Microsoft.Office.Tools.Word namespace. (i.e. As we know this component is in the "Word Controls" group of ToolBox.) I added the above reference to my project, but this component is not accessible yet.

Pardon me if this is not the correct place to ask following question.
In visual studion I guess there are two ways to create a web application
1st : File -> New -> Web Site
and
2nd : File -> New -> Project -> Visual C# -> ASP.Net Web Application
I wonder what is the difference between the two. I found one, when I add crystal report file to fist one I can not see the .cs file for the same.
Please guide
