I am using a file upload control in asp.net2.0 to upload a file in the folder named images
(located in the root directory of my application).The code for submit button's click event is:

when i am running my application,it is showing the following error

Access to the path 'C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\testproject\images\testfile.txt' is denied.

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\testproject\images\tata.txt' is denied.

ASP.NET is not authorized to access the requested resource. Consider granting access rights to the resource to the ASP.NET request identity. ASP.NET has a base process identity (typically {MACHINE}\ASPNET on IIS 5 or Network Service on IIS 6) that is used if the application is not impersonating. If the application is impersonating via <identity impersonate="true"/>, the identity will be the anonymous user (typically IUSR_MACHINENAME) or the authenticated request user.

To grant ASP.NET access to a file, right-click the file in Explorer, choose "Properties" and select the Security tab. Click "Add" to add the appropriate user or group. Highlight the ASP.NET account, and check the boxes for the desired access.

What should i do?

You need to allow write access to that website in the IIS.
Go to start, control Panel, Admin tools, IIS, then right click on Website and go to properties.
There should be a tick/dropdown box somewhere there allowing write access or something like that.

Let us suppose, Application name is MyApplication and page name is Home.aspx
When u run the application u will get some path like

http://localhost/MyApplication/Home.aspx

put your system name(ex:sys130) instead of localhost, then u can acces the application
in any system with in lan connection.

change like
http://sys130/MyApplication/Home.aspx

I am working on web text editor. When i entered text in textbox(text editor),
can i divide 20 lines in to one paragraph.
My aim is to save the text as paragraphs in database, when i submit.
ex: like
id, par1, par2....par10

Hi,

I use a simple login control with 3 users.
It is working fine in file system.
After publish the project to my local web server, my login is not working.
I am getting errors with all my users.

The error is "Your login attempt was not successful. Please try again."

please help.

Please post some code and give us more detail.
Have you tested your web app on the web server before? do other areas of it work?

I haven't tested my page web server before.

Actually i have copied my project to my local web server i.e Localhost.

My project which is stored in my file directory is working fine, but after copying to web server its giving message of Login Failure.

I have used a simple asp.net login control

Make sure in the webconfig file that you have the correct application name for the membership provider. In fact make sure this part of the web.config file is the same as the other

I am doing an application in ASP .NET in which i am using a list box with multiple selection. I am using a sqldatasource to bind values to the list box. Everything works fine till this.

i want the page to send the selected multiple values in list box to be in two different text boxes

i tried this code and working, all the selected values comes to single text boxes. I want first selected value to be in textbox1 and second value to be in textbox2..

This is the code...

On Click event of a button

What if user selects more than 3 items from the ListBox ?
Where are you going to show those items ?

For that instead of assigning values directly to textbox,first you store values to a string array.And after that you create other loop and assign values to your textboxes.

Hi,

I am create a masterpage and webform and I want to display the webform in one page like when we open the website link ,default page, all the contents display in one page,the user no need to scroll up and down.

How to do this using asp.net masterpage or webform?

Hi,
I have been design my stuff in the webform using masterpage,but when I test using the browser, the user need to scroll down the page to see all the content, I wan to make all the content which user can see in one page?
