If you want to use the code behind model, when you add a page to your web site, select the place code in separate file checkbox

I'm using VS 2005. On Add->Existing Item->Web Form, I don't get that option (checkbox), just the filename.

That option is not available when adding existing items

You should make the appropiate modifications by hand after adding the existing item to your project

I want to set a timer, in my web application.
I am displaying some questions on a web page, i want to set a timer, such that, say after 120 seconds the can't answer the question (i want to disable the radio buttons).
So, how can i set a timer ?

I have an html page that loads inside an IFRAME. My html has a link to other page if I click it, the new page is loading inside the IFRAME. I want it to open in the page itself (not in new page).
Any Idea please!!

Hi All,
I would like to inquire that which would be better in the following scenario; an asp.net user control or a custom control / custom control library:

I needed a property in my basic/primitive asp.net controls such as textbox, drop down lists or buttons, which i could use to assign some category to the control, which in turn i would use for access permissions to my application roles and users.
This property would be similar to the TAG property that was in VB 6 controls.
As we don't have such property in asp.net server controls, i have decided to customize these controls, through User Controls.

But i would like your expert opinions on this approach, whether is should go with User Controls or use asp.net custom controls or an entire different approach.

Kindly advice.

Don't worry. It's not three repeaters embedded within each other. Just two. I can databind the first one with out any problem and use it's row_databound event to bind the nested one. My issue is I need to put some code inside the row_databound event of the nested repeater. But how do I do this or register the event up?

Any help on this one greatly appreciated.

Hi,

In my aspx page, I have 3 tabs. tab1, Ownership, Location.

first tab: tab1 entity shows the fields some x, y, z.

Second tab: Ownership: this owner of the above business may be some xxx company, and person.

Ownership tab display details like the below:

Owner Type: dropdownlist: Person or business

if person is selected take them to the Person.aspx page, there he can add the person details like name,ssn, firstname, lastname, middlename,...

If Business is selected, take them to another page, there he can enter, details regarding the business.

The Ownership may contain up to x number of businesses(each buisness have details), y number of persons(each person have the above details).

Third tab: Location: stores the physical address, mailing address.

Now, I have to define the classes in business layer for the above scenario:

a) tab1 class

b) Defined one class i.e business contain the details of the busienss. Person class having the fields for name, ssn, lastname, middle name.

c) defined class Address: having the fields, properties for street address, city, state, country, zipcode.

They can have multiple businesses, persons, adresses.

Now defined another class like the below:

Class Application //this class is to store the above details of 3 tabs.

I am doing an ASP .NET application, which is almost complete. I hosted it into IIS server and the pages are accessed from my machine. The other users in intranet can access the pages now. But when anyone is trying to login to the website, the application is throwing an error saying SQL Connection Error

The error is as follows :

An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. 
When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact 
that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote 
connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, 
error: 25 - Connection string is not valid)

The connection string is declared in Web.Config file and hope it works fine....

Can someone please sort out this issue and help me...
