Hello-
I am currently using the Graphics.DrawString method to write text on the screen. I am using the StringFormatFlags.DirectionVertical in order to display a "banner" of text on the right hand side of the screen. The problem I am faced with is the text is in the opposite direction of what I am looking for. I am not really sure how to word this...
The way the string shows up now with the DirectionVertical flag is if you turned your head 90 degrees to the right, the text would be legible. If you turned your head 90 degrees to the left, the text would be upside down.
I am trying to use the DrawString method to make it so the text is in the opposite direction. If you turn your head 90 degrees to the LEFT, the text would be legible, 90 degrees to the RIGHT it would appear upside down.
I basically want to "flip" the text 180 degrees. My english is weak hopefully I explained properly.
Thank you so much in advance

I suspect you can achieve this by using a RotateTransform .

try to use this...
save your drawing like an image and the apply the flip
image.RotateFlip(RotateFlipType.Rotate180FlipX);
change the RotateFlipType in order to solve exactly your problem..

Hi,
I'm using .NET Framework 1.1.
I need to 'draw' a DataGrid with 4 columns but I need that diffenrent font sizes in every column.
I've tried using the DataGridTextBoxColumn TextBox.Font property but it doesn't work, the cell always take the size of the parent TableStyle.
Is this possible to configure different cells in a DataGrid.
Thanks.

Hello
I am using C# with MSSQL and in my project i have a typed DataSet that contains a DateTime Field.
In my case the DateTime Filed could be Null,
I have set the AllowNulls to Yes.
When i am retrieving or saving records with null date an error pops up
StrongTypingException was unhanded by user code - The value for column 'Date' in table 'SpecialGroupRules' is DBNull.
in the DataSet Properties for the Date Column I tried to set NullValue to Null, but i wouldn't allow me
only to set it to (Throw exception)
Please Help

Have you tried setting the data type to System.Data.SqlTypes.SqlDateTime and the null value to SqlTypes.Null ?
I haven't tested it, but you might give it a try.

Thanks for your reply, but in the properties i don't ave this option, i only have System.DateTime
Where else can i change it?
Thanks Again

Enter them manually instead of selecting them from the combobox.

I was able to change the DataType but it wouldn't allow me to change the DefaultValue, but it seems to work.
Thanks a 100000000000

I'm sure I know the answer but........
Is there a way to box an item without knowing or having access to the class defined in the type?
I mean if I have an object can I see it's data items without boxing it to it's class?
I would apreciate confirmation on my belief that this isn't possible or clarification on the issues with doing this.
Thanks!

"can I see"? What does that mean? You can see it in the Debugger yes?

I mean can I access and view or modify the data programmatically from within C#.
Ultimately what I'd like is to create objects on the fly and be able to add data to them. I liken it to dynamic web pages where I can add controls to any container. I'd like to use the object, or use my own I guess, to create a fully flexible object.

I'm not 100% sure what you are trying to achieve. If you are asking, can you dynamically instantiate objects and manipulate them, then yes you can - you're looking to reflection to do this. If, on the other hand, you are asking if you can create new types objects at runtime and then manipulate them (i.e. dynamic typing), then you can do this as well - but you'll need to look at using the CodeDOM - or possibly Reflection.Emit.

Pete, it is the later of the two examples. Thank you for the direction. I will do some research on dynamic typing.
Thanks!

I hope you know what you're doing. Using CodeDom to generate code/compile and execute should probably be limited to a very small group of problem domains for which it is the last resort. In most situations the same problems can be solved with design and techniques like a plug-in mechanism.

ok, you can fileSystemWatcher For that. but you can't Track Copy of file. it will track only delete, create , renamed and changed .
