hi
i have listview in which i have folowing dataitem
Name
Address
CountryID
StateID
my problem is i have GetCountryName() and GetStateName() methods in my DAL layer and i want
to dislplay country name and state name insted of CountryId and StateId field
i have googled it and looked everywhere can anyone help please to solve this problem
its a bit urgent...thanx in adavance

you didnt mention here, how you populate listview data. I guess u must have used Dataset as data source for Name,Address,CountryID and StateID, and for this you must be sending some SQL Query. So in where clause you can call the function.
Another way is u dont call the funciton, LEFT OOUTER JOIN the Seed Data table for Country and State in SQL Query and populate the list view.
Hope now you got some more Idea.

and this dataset returns data with only countryid and stateid and as u said i cant modify storedprocedure to get names
because they are in different database..i saw tht i can do that using gridview but not with the listview

Hi,
I have following format for collapsible panels.
CollapsiblePanelExtender1 (expanded by default)
headerpanel
contentpanel
textbox1
contentpanel
CollapsiblePanelExtender2 (collapsed by default)
if the textbox1.text (from collapsible panel1) is "Allow" I should be able to expand collapsiblepanels 2 .
in my pageLoad javascript

But what is happening here is when the expand event is happened for collapsible panel2 ,
expandhandeler gets called and condition is checked and if textbox value is not 'Allow' then the
second collapsiblepanel is getting collaped. and there is flickr effect. like expand and collapse happening within a second. There are many articles on flickr but those are for page load.
I want not to have this effect. I want the user to feel that the panel is disabled even if he clicks
the second panel , it should not expand. (if the panel's enabled is set to false then I can not find it in Find$(<behaviourid>) also dont have clue how to find it then and how to enable it.
So please give me some feedback.

Hi Friends,
I have a simple web applicaiton in .net 2.0 i am writing in c#.
Now i am facing the problem in Logout is that, Once i click Logout it takes me back to my Login Page.
But in case if i use Back Button from Browser it goes inside the last page i was. I clear all the cookies and all required things to be done on Logout.
But about this Back Button. I dont know. I have searched alot for this but i really didnt find any proper solution to it.
Any help regarding this will be appreciated.

If you use the Session object you can call Session.Abandon() which will clear it then just put checks in the Page_Load of each page that checks if the Session is null and if so redirects them to the login page.

Hi there,
When you Click the Back Button, it doesnt call the Page_Load method. So even if your Session is Abandon, the page will be visible. Yes But after that he wont be able to do any other function since it will go to the Page_Load Method. But the Page is still visible which is what i dont want.

This is because your page is cached in the user's machine. When you hit back it normally loads from the temporary internet files where normally the files will download. To overcome this problem you need to set cacheability to your pages.
Try any of this code which remove the cacheability of your web page,
Response.Cache.SetCacheability(HttpCacheability.Server);
or
Response.Cache.SetCacheability(HttpCacheability.ServerAndNoCache);
or
Response.Cache.SetCacheability(HttpCacheability.ServerAndPrivate);

Hi
I have a requirement to install web application and webservice under same virtual directory so both applications could use same app.config file. The problem is that both applications create app code.dll file, I need to rename the file for web service but if i rename them then service does not work.
Any help of idea would be highly appreciated. I searched google as well but could not find any link which can point out the solution.

If you need both your website and webservice to be in one virtual directory means, you need to have only one website (One Project).
But if you still need two project, then try Web Application project type, which come in the Visual Studio 2005 SP1. These Web Application would create single dll with the given assembly name.

I'm using VS 2005 on .Net 2.0 and i'm having problems trying to create 2 server controls.
The one control needs to be able to display an image and the other a video and in some way i need to be able to link their properties and drive their events in my web application.Is this possible? 
Can anyone guide me as how i would start this task or have any code they've used when developing similar controls that i could use to get an idea of how to proceed?

Page-A has some options.it is aspx page.
when i check a itme, display html page in Page-A.
It likes a html-page contain another html-page use frame.

Hi Joson,
What you could do is to use ASP.NET Master Pages.
1. Add a master page to your solution lets says MasterPage.master
2. Create your left links in it.(Outside the ContentPlaceHolder tags)
3. And create another page lets say Default.aspx, using the master page as the MasterPage.master.
4. Then based on the clicked item just redirect to the page, make sure those pages will also use the same master page.

U can use java script's Alert function in source file
or as pavankumarchakilam suggested try this in ur codefile
