Keep user type in the database. Say you have two types of users namely, "NormalUser" and "Administrator". Create two classes say "NormalUserPage" and "AdministratorPage" which inherits from System.Web.UI.Page. Override OnInit method and do the checking. In "NormalUserPage" check current user role belongs to normal user group and redirect him if not.
Create your ASPX pages and derive that page from the appropriate classes. I mean, if you want to allow a page for admin, derive that from "AdministratorPage". This will make coding more easy than checking in each page load.

Why not use the built in asp.net membership classes. .Net then takes care of all this for you. You simply type something like:
If User.IsInRole("administrators") then
'do something
elseif User.IsInRole("users") then
'do something else
end if
There is a database schema which will build the membership database for you, it can usually be found at C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_regsql.exe.
The just look up on google how to implement form based authentication.

I create a web application in asp.net. When i brows this application from my computer then it runs.
But when i browse this application from other computer by giving my IP address then it gives message DNS error;

But unable to browse By giving this address
please help me.

What error are u getting???
First of all have u deployed your app in IIS as a virtual directory? If yes then check your site properties in IIS, if u have a default document, add it to the list in IIS.

I have already create a virtual directory on server.
but unable to browse from client computer.
it shows PGE can not be display
DNS ERROR.

Check whether ur server`s firewall is on. Switch it Off and try again. If u don`t wish to compromise on security, create a port in firewall to allow access.

Load the image into System.Drawing.Imaging.Image instance. It has a Save() method which allows to specify the image format.

This is how i m creating image as bitmap but i m not getting where it is created. I specify path like c:\\new but it is not taking so i just specify new but where this file created i m not getting.

The first parameter is string path
imgInFile.Save(Server.MapPath("new.bmp"), ImageFormat.Bmp);
save on application root directory.

I have created one web page. If I browse from the virtual directory of IIS, I am getting the following error. I am using VS 2005 and Framework 2.0

I tried by running the command "aspnet_regiis -ga ASPNET" and aspnet_regiis -ga <windows user="" name="">. It is granting the permissions. But still my problem is not solved. Pls help.
I can able to create setup and deploy successfully from other system. In my system, I am unable to do this.

Well i also suffered from the wierd error. But executing foll command rectified it
aspnet_regiis -i
ie reinstall framework.

Hi all,
I am facing problems in date sorting in gridview with date displayed in "dd/MM/yyyy" format. I googled for the prob and came up with some solutions such as DataFormatString="{0:dd/MM/yyyy}", having a template field as label and during binding converting it to "dd/MM/yyyy" format by using Convert.ToDateTime(mydata).ToString("dd/MM/yyyy").
None of the above method works. So to solve this problem, i have to change the date in sql itself as
select a,b,Convert(varchar(10),mydate,103) from table1
but this returns date in a string format, and thus while sorting it sorts it as a string. I guess the above code might work if i change my regional settings, but every where i can`t control it.
Is there any other viable solution to this.

In ItemTemplate, you can use format string
i.e <%# Eval("MydateField","0:dd/MM/yyyy") %>
or in codebehind side
string myDate=String.Format("{0:dd/MM/yyyy}",myDateField);
