I'm having trouble serializing my class and someone suggested I dump the xml schema from the Type/Graph to take a look.

I hunted around and couldn't figure out how to do that.

Could someone help me out?

Open the .NET/VS Command Prompt, and run the following:

xsd /t:MyNamespace.MyType yourdllorexe

xacc.ide - now with TabsToSpaces support
IronScheme - 1.0 alpha 4a out now (29 May 2008)

Can you point me out in some directions of how to support drag and drop between my application and windows explorer?
The only article that I found on this was the this one written by Michael Dunn, but it's implemented in C++ and it's not even working with Windows Vista.
This article it's doing exactly what I need, but unfortunately it's not working under windows vista even though I'm running it with administrator rights

I found that article too but it only supports copy from the console while I am more interested in a mouse drop rather than ctrl c

Sorry, it was a typo(I meant clipboard). The application you sent me works perfectly under windows xp, but under vista it's not working anymore

What error(s) are you getting under Vista?
I bet it's something to do with permissions - you may have to add an application manifest file and alter the requested execution level.

Hello everyone,

I think convert from Single or Double to Decimal is always fine since Decimal has broader precision and broader range. Why it is mentioned,

"Conversions from Single or Double to Decimal throw an OverflowException if the result of the conversion is not representable as a Decimal."

floating point types will always have a bigger range, but not precision.

Yes.

Single (float) has a range of -3.402823e38 to +3.402823e38.
Decimal has a range of -79,228,162,514,264,337,593,543,950,335 to +79,228,162,514,264,337,593,543,950,335.

So, the value 8e29 can be stored in a float but not in a Decimal.

I think this is because Single and Double are floating point numerical representation. They have value INF (infinity) and NaN (not a number) which cannot be converted to Decimal.

From the link, it is not mentioned explicitly Nan can not be converted to Decimal. If I missed anything, could you point out please? Smile | :)

Can't you just try it out for yourself?

float f = float.NaN;
Decimal d = Convert.ToDecimal(f);

yields a OverflowException

How would you represent INF or NaN as a Decimal? And as leppie said, floating point types cover a wider range than Decimal.
Double.MaxValue = 1.79769313486232E+308
Single.MaxValue = 3.402823E+38
Decimal.MaxValue = 79228162514264337593543950335

I am trying to get the owner/parent form of my CollectionEditor. I have tried looking in:

CreateCollectionForm()

And checking the return values properties such as Owner/Parent, but they are set to null.

Does anyone know how to do this?, and if its not possible via the CollectionEditor, how would i do this via P/Invoke as i am guessing this would be possible...
