Hi,
I want to getElementById of a control which is inside a Wizard control in ASP.NET 2.0.
My code is like :
var ddl=document.getElementById("ddlCountry");
if my ddlCountry is inside a Wizard control then how I will get the control by getElementById("").The above code works fine if ddlCountry is not inside wizard control.If it is inside wizard control then the above code does not work.

You can try using a similar trick.

Hi,
Get the ClientID property of ddlCountry from the server side code.
If your get 'ctl00_BodyContent_Wizard1_ddlCountry'
then the following line will give you control refrence in javascript.
var ddl=document.getElementById('ctl00_BodyContent_Wizard1_ddlCountry');

i declared a global variable like this:
string ddl="";
then in page load i wrote the following line:
ddl = ddlCountry.ClientID;
now in javascript i write like :
var DrpDwn = document.getElementById("ddl");
alert(DrpDwn).
Above is code is not working.What is wrong I am doing.Remember ddlCountry is inside wizard control.

That would be clumsy. Can you generate the formatstring neatly in the codebehind rather than making a spagetti code in the ASPX?

If you have <asp:hyperlink as a runat server and give an ID to it, you can access the same from codebehind and set is properties in page_load. At runtime, the necessary HTML would be generated for you.

I am using Oracle database and when data in a particular table in oracle database changed .net web page has to refresh automatically.
its not periodiacally. Its only on demand.
How can i do this.
If any body know plz help me.

To check if the state of the data has changed the page would have to be re-loaded and sent back to the server.
The only way to do this is to have an automatic refresh.
Woudl that be suitable?
But then you have to decide how often you want the page to refresh.
Is the user going to constantly have the same screen in front of them, if they are moving about its not so much a problem.

You can use Ajax methods in the backend for a particular time interval, say every half-an-hour, to check the database and find whether any changes has been made. If there is, update the same.
If it's too difficult to check the updation, just load the data from database everytime. But this may affect the performance.I'm not too sure about it.

Hi all,
I am beginner in web development in ASP.net using C#.and i hve the following problem to solve.
I have three list boxes and all this list boxes takes data from MS Access database.
When i select one of the item in first list box, the second list box dynamically list the data depending on the selection i have made in the first list box so i can select the one of the items in this second list box and the third list box will displays the item depends on the item selected in the second list box.Please help me!!!!!!!!!
