I just have posted an article and on preview page it looks alright, but when I published it, a mysterious horizontal scroll bar appeared. No matter how much I stretch the window I always have to scroll 20-30 pixels on right side to see whole article. The article hasn't been approved yet and it would be nice if someone can fix it before it gets published. Thanks

Mostly, when you see programmers, they aren't doing anything. One of the attractive things about programmers is that you cannot tell whether or not they are working simply by looking at them. I had a crack at fixing the scrolling but something funky is going on. HAve asked Sean to take a look at it first thing in the morning.

In the page that list the various bookmarks, when I click the trash icon, it pops up a confirmation. When I click 'YES', it posts back and then removes it. I was trying to see, if instead of postback, a simple coloring effect and an AJAX based delete like in Wordpress dashboard for blog post/comments listings would be more cool right?

I just observed the new 'Watch' option at the top of the forums. But when I clicked the URL first time, it works fine. When the page reloads, it again shows 'WATCH'. If I press it again, it says 'Already Watched'. I would suggest two options:
If the item is watched, this text can change to 'Remove from Watch List'. This would save an unnecessary validation and an error message besides improving user-friendliness since you don't need to necessarily go to 'My CodeProject' page, search amongst your Watch items and un-watch an item.
P.S.: I didn't see any 'Unwatch' option in 'My CodeProject' page. Am I missing something? So 'Add to Watch' is currently like an irreversible option.

I just observed a link called 'My CodeProject' and it has a cool section called Refresh. I just was playing around it and found two issues:
1) The validation exception displays if an invalid character is punched in to the textbox but the page also refreshes with the default value. I think the page refresh should not be allowed.
2) Also, if a large value is given through querystring, it accepts and feeds it to the textbox and my IE choke till I managed to reset to default value.
Otherwise, I feel that this is a very nice innovative page.

This is not a SQL injection issue. There was definitely a lack of checking and cleaning Querystring data, but there was definitely nothing server side exposed.

An out-of-bounds value made the page refresh every second, that would actually lead to DoS Attack on the server right?

If tens of thousands of members were viewing the page separately, then it could potentially cause a load problem but it's not a SQL injection attack and not a DoS (or DDoS) attack.
It's just a bug.

I don't know if it should be that way but... when posting with < > like the #includes, if you don't separate the content with a space it's the same if you use the code tags or not it never comes. See here[^] and when I try to edit that message then I have...

Hi Chris,
I wrote a message quoting something from MSDN and I didn't realize about the large of one line, I should have break it manually, but the thing is that after posting and realizing... I didn't get the "edit/delete" tags because they are right bounded and my message is too long, no horizontal scrollbar coming as well, so I can not go to the right side of the message to edit it.

True. In the new design, the horizontal scrollbar does not come and the div just clips the overflowing text.

Still somewhat broken. It's centered but stretched very wide on my 1600x1200.
You know, every time I tried to win a bar-bet about being able to count to 1000 using my fingers I always got punched out when I reached 4....

My "last visited" time is setting itself to the time I make a forum post. It has happened twice today within a 10 minute period. This makes it difficult to find the unread posts

Hmmm. Worked as expected from here. I'd been on for 7 minutes before posting this reply and my "last time" didn't change. I did this yesterday from my home machine and had the problem. It's IE 6 at home, 7 here at work. Is there some setting in 6 that would be clearing cookies while I'm surfing on a site? I didn't do anything beyond navigating on the site between the two posts yesterday, both of which reset the time.
