Avi Player using MCI: no sound?

Hi, I used the MCI player on this site http://www.codeproject.com/KB/audio-video/hmediaplayer.aspx[^]
but for some reason whenever I play a avi video no sound ever comes out. Does anyone know why?

Yes I tried running with other movie files. It works fine with mpg files but just not avi... I there any way to fix this?

If your try was successful maybe problem is of your file but if you think your file doesnt have,check clock.avi on the windows directory and also see does mci has tick on the System conkfiguration Utility?

Please any one help me. am using the following code

::SetTimer(g_hWndParent,TIMER_GRABINTERVAL,g_TimerInterval,TIMERPROC(OnTimer));

calling the in ::SetTimer() it gives the error message

Note that my timer function is a member function so has to be static, and it's using __stdcall. Lastly, though it may not be relevant, I'm using UINT, not UINT_PTR.

I got fed up with some "plz help hmwrk" questions, so decided to retire from the board for a few days. My replies were getting a bit rant-y... And our CP pursuaded me to stay. So the sig have varied occasionally.

Name collision? Try to rename it OnMyTimer. If it doesn't help, please provide the context of your TIMERPROC declaration (i.e. is it a method?).

Kindly please let me know how to get started to create log file in C. I have to create a dll utility that should create a particular formatted logs. Please give me and idea to go about it.

Please be more specific on your problem/difficulty: Aren't you able to create a file and write to it?
Aren't you able to build a DLL? Are you using MFC or WIN32?

Thanks for the reply.

I am able to make a DLL file. Using VC++. I have log file which I have to rebuild it into a new format. It uses Multithreading, Mutex's and all. I wanted to know how do I start on it to create a new program that make a DLL file. This DLL file should be able to create the newly formatted log files.
Kindly please let me know regarding this.

I think the above are quite opposite sentences. Please elaborate.
Making a new DLL project with Visual Studio is straightforward.
