u can take another listbox and bind it with previous listbox's datavaluefield.
but u cant display both DataTextField & DataValueField in same ListBox

Hello friends,
I am facing a very diffrent typr of problem. In my applicetion there is a loginid when i put somthing in it emailid is autogenerated through javascript and put this to the emailid textbox.
I am also having two dropdownlist ddlCountry and ddlState. the page postbacks when we select a country and ddlState is filled.During this time txtEmailid becomes blank.
now if i again generate an onblur event on the loginid emailid is filled but when i click save button it again lost.
No value can be retrieve from the txtEmailid.
How to solve this problem........

when the e-mail id is autogenerated store it in a session at that point, dont take the value from the textbox at the end

I have to show this in the textbox.
Same problem is with date it also disappears on button click.

Because javascript is run at client side and your other controls post back it means that when the page is refreshed then the javascript has to be run again, you may need to think about the order in which these things happen

put your date textbox in UpdatePanel(Ajax Control) and button outside the UpdatePanel bcoz it will not work inside UpdatePanel.
UpdatePanel will stop refreshing u r page.

It sounds like you havent got the correct rights when it is on the web server
Can you give us a bit more detail about your app etc
Also try googling the error message someone must have had the same problem before

Well this aplication convert imagage to text image. I've added a module to convert image format from one to other. I've done googling but i didn't found solution. I've given all the rights on web server. I've not made this site. I have made enhancement in this application. As i think this application was built in asp and then converted to asp.net because HTML controls have been used instead of ASP.Net controls. So, can you help me out? check your database connection rights if you have any, when you get a security permissions error it usually means you do not have the correct rights to do stuff
does the error message happen when you just view a page or when you perform an action on the page?

when i perform an action. When i upload an image and then i want to convert it into text then this error occurs. I don't have any database attached with this application.

I know I keep repeating but it does sound like the permissions dont allow you to upload to the server, especially files, try researching about what permissions you need to do this

Why would you want that to happen, the whole point of it is to make typing faster, what affect would the button have on it?
I'm not sure if you can do this anyway, ive found the ajax controls not very flexible in the past, the only logical way to do it would be to call the piece of autocomplete code on the onclick for the image button

Hi,
I have a web form (aspx) with some controls that take long time to load. This is because they gather information from other systems on our network. Today the whole page will wait for these controls to be finished before anything is sent to the client. Is it possible to change this behavior easily? I have installing the AJAX Extensions and AJAX Toolkit. Using the UpdatePanel i can refresh the components without reloading and waiting for the whole page, but it still takes a long time to load the page the first time.
Can someone come up with any good ideas?

I don't think there is an easy way to do this, when you have databases which are quite big and are spread out throughout your system it will make the app run slightly slower.
You will have to load all controls on the page for the first time anyway and the server request has to happen.
Maybe look at trimming down your app in other ways e.g. if you have images reduce the size, try and move any of your databases closer together on the system or shrink down if possible.

Stubborn as I am, I found a solution. If you want to try it I will give you a brief description of the setup.
I have an UpdatePanel with the slow-loading content. Set Visible = false on the slow-loading content and make sure that it's not visible and that page is loading fast. If you have trouble making the content invisible, or if it consists of several components, put the content on a Panel and make the Panel invisible.
Add a second UpdatePanel with an AJAX timer. Set Interval = 1 on the timer. Add a Tick event handler to the timer that sets the Interval to a higher value or disable the timer all together if you don't want to update the content regularly. Also make the slow-loading content visible.
Your page will load and will immediately trigger an update which will force the slow-loading content to load asynchronously.

Hi All
i am having a tough time running my web app after obfuscation. 
I tried one tool called dotfuscator, shipped with VS2005,I was able to obfuscate the .net dlls but I failed to run the application after Obfuscation.
I don’t know whether I am making any mistake while obfuscating code.
my application is a multilayered architecture i.e. there are actually 5 projects in one application. i guess this could be a reason that my app is not running after obfustion.
please give me some idea how do i successfuly obfuscate and run my application,

Assume you are binding the gridview using a DataTable. When the button is clicked, add a new row to this DataTable instance and re-bind with the gridview. Use AJAX toolkit's update panel control, put the grid view and button inside UpdataPanel.
