Okay, I submitted an article this morning, but for whatever reason it refused to show the source code download.
I just deleted it and resubmitted, and now the old item on the CP home page is still there - with the wrong url (of course), and the new item isn't listed at all.
Okay, that part seems to have fixed itself.
Further, I usually create my article text offline. I use paragraph tags for paragraphs (I know - silly idea), but CP uses line feed tags between paragraphs. The whole editing thing kinda sucks...
When you move between "WYSIWYG" mode and html mode, your text is completely reformatted, and is extremely difficult to manage at that point.

Part of this is converting HTML to XHTML. We need to ensure that the HTML on the site is well formed and that can be tricky to do while maintaining layout because if the HTML is really screwy then the final corrected result can be quite different.
What we are doing is an initial correction using the browser's DOM so that you can immediately see what happens to your HTML when it's corrected. If your code is already correct then the display you see shouldn't be affected. If your initial HTML wasn't correctly formed then you may see changes which could prompt you to go back and edit and it's this 'corrected' HTML that's screwy.

Hi All/Chris,
I like the new icons accompanying Print, Discuss, Send To Friend, etc. However, due to the width of the occupied screen real estate, articles now require horizontal scrolling on 1024x768 resolution.
It's hard to ask authors to keep their article width manageable when the article is presented in a manner which does not do the same.
I also observe that the note "This is an unedited reader contribution" has plenty of screen real estate. Perhaps switching locations will present a more visually appealing page? In addition, the note is more appropriate next to the rating.

I agree. Another solution might be to reduce the font size for the "Print, Report Article", etc. I notice that the size of the "Popularity" font seems to be a tad smaller.

Hi All/Chris,
When attempting to cast a ballot, I recieved "Unfortunately the page you requested was not found." This was with both a low quality article (possibly sent off to purgatory) and a high quality article. (Sorry Hans. As soon as the voting is back in place, I'll get that univote cast )

I don't know. What I have been doing is to jot down the page I'm trying to view, the servers that don't work (there are usually several of these, before I get to one that works), and finally the server that works correctly. If you can do the same, and send the results to Chris, maybe they can pin it down.

Web17 and Web19 are causing problems also. I'm trying to update an article, and I get kicked back with the following:
There was a problem creating your article.
* A basename needs to be supplied.
* A section needs to be selected.
* A subsection needs to be selected.

This was related to the unsynched articles. We found and fixed the problem so all should be good now.

After getting My Settings working for me again (see my post below), I would love to have the following posting options default based on additional settings in My Settings:
o Ignore HTML tags in this message (good for code snippets)
o Auto-encode HTML when pasting?
o Notify me by e-mail if someone answers this message

Is there any way to post messages/replies with small HTML code snippets embedded so that the HTML would be displayed like in a web page? They keyword here being SMALL.

However, certain HTML tags are filtered out because they can cause problems.
