Hi all,
I have a dialog within my dll. I create the dialog as follows:
upgradeHWnd = ::CreateDialog(NULL,MAKEINTRESOURCE(IDD_DIALOGUpgrade),NULL,NULL);
But I receive the following error when calling GetLastError()
ERROR_RESOURCE_TYPE_NOT_FOUND
1813
0x715
The specified resource type cannot be found in the image file.
What am I doing wrong?

Try ::CreateDialog(hDLLInstance, give the Handle to Module instance of the DLL.

You do not have to just put a module handle into the call to ::CreateDialog(...), but you have to specify the handle of the module that contains the resource.
For example, if you have loaded a DLL called MyUpdateSystem.DLL and that DLL contains the dialog resource, you would do something like:
::CreateDialog( ::GetModuleInstance( _T( "<code>MyUpdateSystem.DLL</code>" ) ),
MAKEINTRESOURCE( IDD_DIALOGUpgrade ), NULL, NULL ); Peace!

Hello everyone,
I'm tryin to build a new vc++ MFC project which should result in a dialog with splitter windows. I went through few tutorials but that didn't had any direct step by step approach. Whenever i see a ample code for splitter window example project, i dont understand where the splitter dialog resides in the resource. I would like anyone to suggest a easy way of doing the same.... Is it necessary to write the code manually instead of any drag and drop approach.... Plz help...

Look here
You won't find the splitter window in the dialog resource because it is a window! The splitter window must be attached to a frame window, so you have to manufacture one of these in the dialog class. Each of the splitter window panes requires a view class so you have to generate these as well. See CreateViews() in the sample application.

Im building a client server application where the client will send information to the server using Visual C++ .NET. The communication and sending information to the server has succeed. I want to write the information that is retrieved by the server to Microsoft Access. How can i accomplish this? For your information, Im using the win32 console application as the C++ platform. Is there any sample code which i can refer to? A friend of mine told me that there is something to do with managed C++. I really dont know anything about managed C++. Is it the same with the normal C/C++ code? What are the difference? Sori due to my 'basic' questions. hehe. Kinda desperate currently. Anyway, thank you and your reply is really appreciated.

The openGL Red Book is a great resource to start learning about openGL: it is available online here[^].
PS: as far as I know, it is a legal on-line version. If you think it is not the case, please tell me and I will remove the link. This comes from the "About this guide" page:

I add a bitmap to the resource, the bitmap is not as big as I expected.(likewise the bitmap is 100*60, but I just want it as 32*32). I know I can use a picture program to achieve this goal, but I just want to do it in the code.
And I'm not drawing the bitmap myself using CDC, but use it in the CPropertySheet, use a HBITMAP as parameter, so can I CBitmap::LoadImage load the original bitmap, and deal with it in the memory to transform it as a smaller one? then pass the HBITMAP handle to the parameter.
If you have some idea, plz give me some code sample, thx a lot.

Load Bitmap using LoadImage API. in 4th and 5th parameter pass dsired width and height. Pass HBITMAP returned by LoadImage in CBitmap.Attach() method and casll CBitmap.Detach() when work finish.

Where does the CDynamicAccessorEx class comes from ? Did you make sure that the cpp file of this file is part of your project ? A frequent error is also to declare a construtor and destructor but forget to give a body (and it seems that is your case, because only those two functions are missing).
Make sure you have a body for those (even if it is an empty one).
