I just thought that it would be easier to stick to one coding language
plus javascript can be turned off at the client end therefore rendering the bit of code useless

In my ASP.NET 2.0 application, I have to automatically intimate
users regarding their memberships via EMAILS.
I am restricted not to use any Event driven code because these emails are to be sent on regular basis.
can i use any web service to schedule the emails to be sent?
How can I search such a web service?

You can use windows service. Write a service and install it on server. This service should send mails at the required time.

You ca write a webservice which does the job. Then call this webservice from a windows application at the specified intervals. You can keep the windows application in any of the machine which is connected with internet.

1)How Process goes or what processes get executed while .cs files converted into .exe?
2)Is JIT is part of CLR?
3)What is the use of Datatable in ASP.Net
4)AJAX is used for?
5)How CLR can take reposibilites of code execution? How the process handled by CLR?
6)What are user control?What is the use of that control?Is these controls same as which is in already in the Framework?
7)What do you mean by Prerendering of page?

Is it just me, or people getting very lazy. Think for yourself, research, all of these questions can be answered if just look for the info, its there and not too difficult to find. Who knows, along the way you might actually learn something.

Hi,
I am developing a web app using c#, asp.net and vs 2003 but I am having problems trying to create a page like the picture below. I need a grid(any control) to represent each player in the test or a single grid with headers for each player. I have the sql written and at the moment each grid on the pic has its own datatable in a dataset, so I am just wondering what is the best way to go about this I have been trying to use a repeater but I am not sure if this is the correct way. Any idea or suggestions would be appreciated

You mean like the DataGrid? I know it's a school assignment, but really is it that difficult to look at the toolbox and see what controls are available that may be grid-like, or maybe even have GRID in the name?

Obviously i know i can use the datagrid to display my results but what i was actually asking was which would be better/easier to create this format a grid or a repeater or some other control but thanks for your reply anyway

hi,
I've just recently made a website and its basically a Spanish Directory Services website in US. Basicaly its built in English but I thought that we'll use BabelFish or Google to translate the webpages. now when I translate the pages its theming is all messed up.

i have a web site , and trying to access the sql server 2000 , it is establishing the connection , but if i try to establish the connection by the web service , it says
Cannot open database requested in login 'Vehicle_Details'. Login fails.
Login failed for user 'sa'.
Yesterday is a canceled check. Tomorrow is a promissory note. Today is the ready cash. USE IT.

1) How do you know that it is establishing connection ?.
2) The error may be by the fact the passowrd of the sa you have given is wrong.

while typing www.asp.net its going to home page of that website. what are all the process its going on for going to home page . where we have to register the site name (www.asp.net).can any one explain the process in detail

1) You can place the page that has to shown as default in the Documents List ( IIS > Your Site > right click > Documents(Tab)
2) To register a site search for Website hosting providers in your area. Their site should give you an idea to register domain and host a site.

In this case i want to find both the strings that are in bold..
My idea is...

a=text.IndexOf("$$");
b=text.IndexOf("##");

string res=text.Substring(a+2,b-a-2);
but it'll give only the first part how to traverse till last so that i mayb call this using recursion...
Help me please........

I am making an online examination system in which questions or its options may contain pictures also.......
In such a case i want to store the image path at the place of image with the question. To seprate this i'll use some flag....
Now by getting the flag position i'll get the path of the image and generate an image at the requried place.
But the problem is that it may be possible that there are more than one image in the question in such a case what to do....
