I have no idea what you mean by a pop-up window. Do you mean a floating control bar? In which case, you need to get the window you created, and you may need to call GetDockingFrame to get the window you actually move.

Hi ,

I am new to windows mobile 2003 SDK and eMbadded VC++ 4. So don't mind me if this is sound big deal for me

I Install the SDK and eMbadded VC++ 4 in my machine which is running on windows XP.

When I try to start a new project in eMbadded VC++ 4 and after naming the project and all the other thing, I get to the stage when I press " Finish". At that time it show at the bottom right corner ( status bar) " loading class information" and it seem the eMbadded VC++ 4 is freeze in the way that it not responding.

Any idea why and how to resolve the problem.

I really appreciate any input.

Have you tried reinstalling Embedded VC++. I have been using it for years without any problems.

You might want to download a fresh copy and install that, just incase your download was corrupted or something.

Hi you can use AfxGetInstanceHandle() if u r using MFC or if it is Win32 HANDLE hModule in dllmain function is the HINSTANCE.

Answer:

To get the instance of an activex control you can use AfxGetInstanceHandle() in MFC.

eg: g_hInstance = AfxGetInstanceHandle();

or if u are developing a Win32 ActiveX Control you can use HANDLE hModule in dllmain function is the HINSTANCE.

like this way -

int Dllmain(HMODULE hModule...)
{
g_hInstance = (HINSTANCE) hModule;
......................
......................
}

just wanted to know how do i set the progress bar.. i am creating a media player.. a simple player where in we can play and stop the song. now i need to add more functionalites.. i want to implemeny a progress bar which moves as the songs goes on... or rather synchonizes with the song.. some leads.. if sombody has done is then please help me in doing this.

Hi all,

I have string like this.

First name: name

I want to get the string after the ':'. What is the easiest way.

I'm wired with my way, find the length, find the place where : sign include and stuck...

If you're using MFC, it'd be easily done with the CString::Mid() function:

CString str = _T("Name: Rajesh");
int iPos = str.Find(_T(":"),0);
AfxMessageBox(str.Mid(iPos+1));

Or, if you aren't using MFC, then perhaps this helps you:

TCHAR *tch = new TCHAR(20);
tch = _T("Name:Rajesh");

while(tch++)
{
    if(*tch == ':')
    {
        ::MessageBox(NULL, (tch+1), _T("Message"), MB_ICONINFORMATION);
        break;
    }
}delete tch;

If not using CString, write

char* pszName = strstr (variable, ":");
if (pszName != NULL)
{
  pszName is valid pointer.

Hi All,
"<Name>get input from user </Name>"
is it possible to get input from user as depicted in the above method.

The console will echo the "Name" tag and the cursor should be blinking in between the start and end of "Name" tag where in the user should enter a valid input.

May be you could use gotoxy() to put the cursor in between.

To solve my problem... Finally I installed VC in the client's system. Now the assertion error is not coming..its working. - Anu Bala, in the Visual C++ forum[^]
