It's always a good practice to keep the string values which is common to the application in a assembly resource file.
In Framework 2.0, accessing the named strings from assembly resource file has been made very simpler. You have to add the resource file to the App_GlobalResources folder and add the named strings to the resource file.
Say for an example, you have added a resource file with the name GlobalData.resx and a string ApplicationName with the value "Sample Application". The named strings you add to a global resource file are accessible through a namespace named Resources. It takes a single line of code...
lblAppName.Text = Resources.GlobalData.ApplicationName

You can't. Use some grid-based control instead and provide the user with the ability to select rows of data.

First of all c# is a language and ASP.net is web technology which is used for development of web sites and web services. For the development of website using ASP.net we can use any of the languages c#, VB, c++, j# which is provided by Visual Studio 2005. If we are using c# then we call c#.net, if we are using VB then we call VB.net. It is simple naming convention which specifies which language is used for development of any project.

I'm sending mail in ASP.NET 2.0 then it's raising the following error
Mailbox unavailable. The server response was: 5.7.1 Unable to relay for manoj.msb1984@gmail.com

Now i've configured SMTP. And also it's sending message "Mail Sent Successfully" But i'm not receiving any mail and also not spam too.
It's ok for localhost. But if i upload my project on my server then localhost won't work am i right.
If yes plz explain wht more modication i must make in my code

??Is your server in your network or are you using some hosting service?
If you are using local mail server, you have to use your mail server name instead of localhost..
If you are on web host, you should contact with your hosting service provider. The process is differ from one host to another..

this code is server side code so it wont give you IP of client.

i have creat a website using asp.net 2.0 validation using vbscript and Javascript, which run fine on window server 2003 SP1,
but
when i run same site on Windows server 2003 SP2, it gives me scripting error and unable to support scripting.
means when i click on any submit button it does not give me response.
where i am wrong ???
what should i do???

It is a Server Machine and due to security reasons most of the script would not work in the Server's IE. You need to change the security settings of the Server's Internet Explorer which is not highly recommended.
Try to access the website from other machine (client machine). No script error will not occur unless or until there is really a problem in your script.

hi friends,
I am developing a webapplication (using ASP.NET 2.0). In that I need to play audio file in the following scenario.
Case 1: Only one file will be given as input to audio device.Untill the user presses ALT+F4 it should continue playing.
Case 2: more than one Audio file will be given as I/P to audio device. They will be placed in cue, so one after one they will be played. Here, if the user presses ALT+F4 the playing should be stopped and audio device should not play the remaining files which are in cue. It have to clear it's memory.
I tried with mcisendstring function (winmm.dll)using open, break, play, close command strings. I used "break" bcoz I am playing audio files in "wait mode". But I failed in case 2. whats happening is , if the user presses ALT+F4 then the file which is currently playing is stopped. But the files which are in cue are getting played.
So I request u to suggest how to meet my requirement,

i have a panel which has auto ScrollBar
i have two buttons having text "MoveUp" and MoveDown Respectivelly
what i want to achieve is on clicking MoveUp the panel is scrolled up by one (some) unit
and on clicking the movedown button the pannel should scroll one unit down.

I DID IT but there is a problem if i place an alert before this it works otherwise it donot.......... i have checked the value of scroll top changes even if i donot place alert but visualy the scroll position do not v=change

In my Default.aspx page i created 2 text boxes for Authentication, the user writes his username/password and clicks the login button, the login button handler authenticate the username and password then save the loged in user in the Session.Add("loginUser", userRecord); and redirect the user to Home.aspx using Response.Redirect("~/Home.aspx");. in the Page_Load even of the Home.aspx page it checks the session for the created user, if(Session["loginUser"] == null) it will redirect the user to the login page using Response.Redirect("~/Default.aspx"); otherwise it will load Home.aspx. Home.aspx has a Logout button when you click on it, it will remove the loged in user session Session.Remove("loginUser"); , then it will redirect the user to the Default.aspx. The problem occurs after signing out, when i try to visit Home.aspx by typing the URL to the browser http://localhost/ProjectName/Home.aspx, i can view the content of the page even after signing out by clicking the sign out button. this problem happens only when im using IE, Firefox will redirect me to the login page Default.aspx if i tried to visit Home.aspx after signing out!!
