This Core is something like a Chip[Physically Present thing] or Just it's a kind a algorithm?
If it is any kind of chip then how it works for a single application?
Is that application distributes to 4 cores for process?, And thus it Improves Performence?
Is it something like that?
If there are 4 chip of core then it can Improve performence upto 4 times then a single core??
Actually I m still confuse in cores and it's work.

A processor is a very difficult thing to understand all in one sitting. You will have to do some research about it yourself. If you don't know English all that well, Wikipedia.org[^] has several language translations. But a link to an English article about multi-core microprocessors is here[^].
To give you a light overview of the core:
You are right, on a high level the "core", technically known as a die, is a physical aspect of the processor; but it is actually just a name for a group of specialized components. This is the main area of computing and largely includes the Arithmetic and Logic Unit (ALU)[^], a series of registers[^] (or boolean gates), and some tri-state[^] buffers whose functions are essentially "on", "off", and "disconnect". This is a gross understatement of the core, so to get a better idea of what it looks like, check out this picture[^] of the core, or die, of an x86 Pentium processor.
From application to processor:
Any piece of software on the computer, the Operating System (such as Linux, Microsoft Windows, Solaris, BSD, etc.), or any application that you install and use, and even any application that you may write, must all be converted at some point into a language known as Assembly Code[^]. This language is not standard for all processors and accompanying hardware, the name Assembly Code just refers to all languages that must directly be interpreted by the hardware. A single processor can only ever do one thing at a time, but today's processors operate so fast that it gives the illusion of real multitasking. The applications simply get in line and wait for their turn to pass an instruction through the processor. The speed in which the instructions are processed is determined by the clock speed[^].
Now, the real performance gain is in having more than one processor operating at one time. There are many ways to achieve this; one way, like you mentioned, is to have multiple cores on one or more chip(s). The quad core processors are 4 die arranged around the necessary input/output operators. So you are roughly getting the performance of 4 independent processors. In my experience, and this is just my opinion, I would much rather have two (or more) independent processors than one multi core processor. The two independent processors have double the pin count and can physically handle more data I/O than a multi core setup.
I know this response was rather lenghy, but I hope it gave you somewhere to start learning about processors. There should be plenty of material from Wikipedia to keep you busy for a while, too.

Ok, if you are still having trouble understanding what a quad core processor is then let me break it down for you (just keep in mind that this is on a very high level):
Q::What is a quad core processor?
A::A quad core processor is 4 processors on one chip.
Q::What is the purpose of a quad core processor?
A::If you are familiar with servers, you know that they often use more than one processor on the motherboard (or mainboard, system board, etc.). Many times they will use 2 and 4 processors. Compaq, among others, even makes a server with 8 processors on the motherboard. As you may know, these type of setups are very expensive. This is where quad core processors shine; they bring the same power of the high end servers to your desktop, and are much less expensive.
Q::What can a quad core processor do for me?
A::Let's pretend that you have a computer equiped with a quad core processor. Let's also pretend that you have 2 video cards each with dual monitor output, so we can drive 4 displays at the same time. Now we want to watch a movie in full HD on one monitor, surf the internet in another, do some serious photo editing with Adobe Photoshop in another monitor, and run a virtual machine of Windows Server 2003 hosting a website using IIS in another monitor. It sounds like a lot of stuff happening at one time, but with a quad core processor and enough RAM to keep up with it, this is possible.

Hello,
I am developed a windows service in c#.net3.0(WCF). There is a requirement, that, this service should spontaneously search for a file.mpg in linux folder.
My service will run on the windows platform, there is an another service running on linux and creates .mpg file in its folder. Now my service has to search for the file in linux folder.
Did anyone has met with the similar requirement ever? if so, how you have solved or met this. Please guide me on this.

Two approaches that come to mind are:
1) share the target folder on the linux system so that the windows system can see it
2) have the two services talk to one another and exchange any files between themselves

You need to run Samba on your linux box. Then just modify /etc/smb.conf to list the directory(s) and permissions you want to share on/with the Windows network.
You will have to work a little bit with the encrypted (Windows) and unencrypted (Samba) passwords to get them to play nicely together.

I just looked abit at mkdir and md, none of them seem to have hidden params (i assume you mean the normal hidden attribute?)
There might be unusual commands to do that though, otherwise you might be able to use cscript from cmd.
Maybe something like this[^]
If you dont want to do that, just create a C++ program which you call from cmd which does the work for you...

To make folder password protected, it seems u may need to write low level driver. Not sure. I also wanna do the same.

See, we can prevent folder from accessing/deletion. But for password protection, not sure, low-lever driver must be written.

ATTRIB has been around since the days of DOS 2.0
THere is no command to "password protect" a folder. None of the file systems Windows supports offers this kind of functionality.
It is possible, however, to write a driver that creates a file and treats it like an extension to the file system. If you're comfortable with C++ and writing drivers for Windows, great, have a nice time. If not, you've jumped into the ocean without knowing how to swim.

I've got an XP Home desktop and a Vista laptop connected via wireless router. They are both printing (the printer is also connected to the router) and accessing the Internet just fine. The problem, however, is that they cannot connect to each other. They both can ping the other. I've got File & Printer sharing enabled on both, as well as added to Windows Firewall's exception list. Both machine belong to the same workgroup. I've created a matching user/password on both machines. When I go to map a drive letter from one to the other, I supply the correct logon credentials, but consistently get the same error message.
For what its worth, I did these same things when connecting an XP Home and an XP Pro computer and it worked. The only difference that I can see is Vista.

I was able to get a connection created where the Vista laptop could read files on the XP Home desktop. Since I ultimately want to changes files too, I need the share on the desktop to be "writeable," which is apparently not possible with XP Home (disabling simple sharing is not possible on XP Home). I'm going to upgrade it to XP Pro so solve that minor glitch.
I'd also like to be able to connect to the Vista laptop from the XP desktop, but was told that would be even more difficult.
