hi I want to list out the drives on my device. i wrote this code for .net compact framework:
string[] dList = System.IO.Directory.GetLogicalDrives();

for (int i = 0; i < dList.Length; i++)

{

MessageBox.Show(dList[i]);

}
But on compilation i get the error saying that "System.IO.Directory.GetLogicalDrives()" is not supported.

Can anyone please help.

All the devices/platforms are not supporting this method. Please make sure that your device is supported by Compact framework.
You can go through this[^] link for that.

My device supports compact framework. a wince device doesnot have drives, it has storage places. so i dont know how to list them out.

I have a treeview, when it has many items, then the scrollbar automatically appears, but it always
scrolls to the end item by default, how to force it to scroll to the start position by default?

The scroll position will be determined by the selected item in the tree view. After loading the treeview make the first node as the selected one.
like

if (treeView1.Nodes.Count > 0)
{
  treeView1.SelectedNode = treeView1.Nodes[0];  
}

Hi,
I want to enable a menu, which is in main class, against any child class function but it is not activating.
Instead If I enable it against any button of main class it becomes enable.
as here udb-main is main class and from its button of start I open another form like:

Now in userlogin class login button I want to active main class activities menu against successful login.Here just relevant code is:

You have to assign the parent class to the hmain field instead of assigning a new instance. Most probably it has to be
udb-main hmain = (udb-main)this.Parent;// Main class.

BTW the architecture which is changing the state of a parent element does not seems to be good.

I did it, but now it is giving error:Set object refrence exception.....

There is a small change required in both of the functions, we can use Owner instead of Parent

private void bstart_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
  UserLogin uslog = new UserLogin();
  uslog.Show(this);
}

and

else if (ds == DialogResult.OK)
{
  udb-main hmain = (udb-main)this.Owner;// Main class
  hmain.activitiesToolStripMenuItem.Enable=true;
  hmain.hessloadfunc();
  this.Close();
}

Please try this.

Now plz tell me abt my 1 more prob. if u can. When I click Disconnect button it throws exception and application dont close all threads which are using in main as well as its other classes.

Now I am working with webservices.But now we are facing a problem while calling a method in webservice asynchronously from a web page.ie.when the webmethod computes the result it will not get reflected in the webform, because the page would be rendered to the client while the method processing data.Please help me to avoid this problem( without using polling)...........

hi all
good morning.i want to use date,month and year seperately in my application.i can use convert function in sql sever for this purpose,but i dont want to refer database unnecessarily again and again.can anyone tell me how to get only the date month and year from the datetime format in the frontend.(c#).

Hai All,

I am sending mail through the C# application as an HTML message.

In the email, one link is there.

While the mouse is over the link, it is poping up with the link specification.

Is there any method to avoid the tool tip / pop up.

I have tried the following:
1. Used the title in the tag.
2. Used a javascript function, but it is not invoked.
3. Used the CSS file.

But nothing gave me an answer.

Can any one help me to resolve this.

I doubt you will be work around this because it's more of a security feature. I use it all the time to verify what link I am actually clicking on, since what's displayed has nothing to do with the underlying link.

For example, http://www.apple.com
