Hi Guys
We have a ASP.NET Form with data on there. What we want to do is take the information that is currently on the screen (Say what you view in Internet Explorer) and by a click of a button sent it into a PDF file.
Does anyone know where I might find code examples of something similar like this please.

Thanx for you reply.
This is not an option at our business. They want us to write the logic to Export our data to PDF. They dont want to buy it already, because they need custom functionality before it will be eventually exported. That is why I am trying to find code samples to give me a kind - of - idea how we go about doing something like this. I know it can be done. I have seen a few demos, but not the code files or sample code.

I have different css style sheets.Each of which has different color
scheme for the web site.I have used the <Link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"
href="css/stylesheet.css"> tag to apply the css style sheet.
I want to allow the user to choose from those different color schemes
and apply that color scheme to entire web site.So
How I change the css style sheet at runtime. Basically, I want to change
the href attribute of <Link> tag. Is there any way to apply style sheet that
user selects?

Reading client side serial port in a web application.
Code of treatment of strings in hexadecimal where "0 (zero)" it does not indicate end of string, for managing of devices in the client side.
Scenario:
I am working with a web application in Visual Studio 2005, which needs receives information from peripheral devices connected to the serial port of the client’s pc. It is needed to obtain the information of the above mentioned devices to realize certain processes and to display it on screen.
I’m working with an ActiveX for the managing of the serial port. This part was developed in Javascript.
I send or receive commands like this:
F0 F1 0B 19 02 00 00 00 00 03 05 02 0F
Problem:
The problem is that due to the fact that in Javascript all strings are zero-terminated, Javascript considered the sixth byte (00) to be an end of the string and cut off the rest of it.
If someone knows some solution to this problem already be with JavaScript, VBScript or components .NET would be of great help … Thank you

AFAIK you can't count on a Javascript interpreter to represent your bytes they way you want it to. I mean you could make an array of numbers but they might be 32 bit for all you know. I think you would have to have an interface in the ActiveX control that was designed to deal with this. Like take a hex string or base64 or something and do the conversion internally before writing to the port.
But I have no direct experience with this issue, I'm just guessing.

You haven't explained which technologies you want to use. Your question is of too basic a nature to be handled in a forum. I suggest you choose your tools and then buy some books and learn how to use them.

Either
1) Write a HTTPHandler that handles requests for images
2) Write a separate ASPX page that handles the requests and is configured to return binary image data instead of HTML

Hi Guys,
I have an asp.net page that has a Dropdownlist control linked to ListSearchExtender to have an incremental search feature. And my problem is that, everytime I key in something in the dropdownlist there's also a text at the top of the dropdownlist will display, this is the prompttext.
Is there a way to manipulate the Promptext either placing it next to the dropdownlist control at the right or just simple remove it?
I just can't find a way if how to manipuate or remove the promptext.
Hope you can help me with my current problem.

I need to create an IM Service just like the MSN Messenger,
but I don't know where to start from, what is the form of the server application
because I don't want the clients to poll data from the server every some seconds,
is there an application that I can put it on the Host that the client can open a tcp/ip session (winsock) with it,
what is that application? any idea may help.

I have spacer div with a height of 5px. In FF and Opera, the page is displayed correctly. In IE6, the div was significantly larger (about 20px).
Here's the style that works in opera and firefox:

I had to add overflow:hidden; or font-size:0px; to make it display as expected in IE6. It took me an hour to figure that out. I hate IE.

This is a well known problem with IE. For some reason it thinks that an element has to be at least one character (1.0em) high.
Setting the font size changes the size of em unit so that one em isn't higher than the specified height. Setting overflow keeps the contents from expanding the element. The contents is still one em high, but only part of it is visible.
Experience is the sum of all the mistakes you have done.

I have a slight problem with update panel.

I am developing a website and a problem has been occured..well i have seen a lot of website(probably all) that when you join the website..the website send's you auto respond mail for activation link in email to your email address by which you activate your membership on that particular website.
i want to do stuff similler to above while i dont have any idea..also i want to send my website's member's to newsletter automatically(Something like alert!). any help is heartly appreciated..
