Hi,I have to use the program code to close the mode dialog in parent window automatically? Because the parent windows should exit after the modal dialog has been shown .Please help me!Thank you very very very much!

First - let me apologize for posting this, but I am getting desperate and my posts in other forums went unanswered.
My development is OS Windows 2000 Advanced Server with 3 internal hard drives with various RAID 5 partitions. Just call me paranoid – I do not want to lose my code, period.
My problem is that my LCD freezes almost daily – no keyboard input, no mouse input.
The only way to recover is to turn the power off which upsets the RAID and on next power up it will faithfully regenerate all partitions.
The results are:
The system is painfully slow for few hours
The RAID regeneration cannot be stopped
My drives are wearing out
There are no real trouble indicator entries in the system log with the exception that the system was “shut down improperly”.
I am looking for any reasonable suggestions how to restore / recover from this little more gracefully.
PS
I run wireless keyboard / mouse with fresh batteries.
I test run another USB mouse and when this freeze-up happens it will disable that mouse too.
Please – no “update to hardware RAID / system xyz” suggestions.

Make sure your USB mouse/keyboard are not plugged in via your monitor or any other hub. Monitor hubs go on strike when the monitor goes into power save, very  .
USB is a mess internally and full of as yet improperly fixed bugs. If you're having problems get a PS2 keyboard and mouse and see if that helps. If so you've narrowed the problem to USB. If not then something else in the driver layer is sick. Try updated/recommended/backdated display drivers especially if you've go a newish NVidia card or a Dell PC. In the Dell case get the 'special' versions of the drivers off their website.

I like your idea to fix the cause instead of trying to hack the RAID - it does exactly what it was designed do anyway.
My wireless interface goes to PS2 (keyboard) and motherboard USB (mouse).
I have a Dlink hub and I tried to run the USB thru it, but it fails pretty much same way.
I will go back to PS2 keyboard and keep the mouse wireless - for test.
In the meantime I will look for PS2 mouse in my junk box. Hi Hi.
But my main clue is – it only fails when the mouse is moved / clicked.
That would confirm your suspicion about lousy USB.
I have never seen the monitor to go to power save mode when it freezes.
Is there any way to log USB events in the log??

Hi!
I need Your help. I have to make windows form in Visual C++ and connect it with database (I have to use SQL Server). In windows form I have to use ListBox to show information from database(for example name, lastname of users). The application should let to search the users from database. If someone know what I mean... please help me and save my life!

Maybe when you make a concrete question you will have a concrete answer.
My first tip... Use VC++ Help / MSDN / Google / Codeproject articles-forums and read about CListBox class members. Then about ADO and OLE DB.

Could someone please point me to info / code how does CRichEditView / CCtrlView works when the user drags the mouse over the text with left mouse button down?
It appears that when first space is encountered the next word is fully highlited after first character is selected by the mouse. However sometime this no longer works when other characterare are encountered after the last letter. For example “ * end.” will break this "autocopleting".
But “100+ test” with continue to autocomplete the selection.
This “autocompletion” of selection can be also seen in MS Word.

Hi...I am working on the MDS 5.0  .In an application i have to use more than 255 ocx. But because of the limitation of VC++ i can not use more than 255 ocx in a single dialog. Is there any solution so that i can use the ocx as per my requirment.

Hi,
I created save as dialog using OPENFILENAME and GEtSaveFileName API in SDK. After displaying the save as dialog i can change the file type, but after changing the file extension file name is dispalyed with old extension only.
How to update the filename extension while selecting the file type in the dialog window.

Hi,
Is there any way to add a toolbar in dialog caption ?
In dialog caption, in addition to "Help" and "Close", I want to have one more button. So, I am planing to put a toolbar (including new button along with "Help" and "Close" button) itself in the caption bar. Could you please guide me in this requirement ?
Any help would be highly appreciated.

Why? Don't you want to be stuck with MS UI guidelines?
