ls -l [filename] will show you the length of a file in most Linux shells. I have no idea what that has to do with C# though.

i have one gridview in my application ihave filled my gridview with the values from database now i want one column to be hyperlink column.
When i click on any of this column value (i.e., filename)the file which is in the server system associated with that value has to be downloaded in the client system

you can add Boundfield on edit mode of grid view and chage the type as hyperlink ....thats all

One way to determine which version(s) of Microsoft Office are installed is to check for the registry hives: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\version number The version number will be 10.0 for Office 2000, 11.0 for Office 2003, etc.

I passed this query last few days till now no one cleared.Now iam changed to explain clearly.
I want to develop in windows Service appn in c#.First how to do the steps to create Windows Serice appn i.e,
Open new file and select Windows from project type and choose Windows Service appn this is the procedure in c#.What is my problem is using these appn i want to resrict to open (already created files in watever drive) the files.
I did one appn in c# using Windows Service concept to delete recently created .txt file (when you are going to create one .txt file in watever drive it is going to be deleted)it was successfully executed.

If you want to create a windows service...and don't know how....try these [^] links. All you have to do is search...This [^]tutorial explains how to create the setup project for your windows service. The article shows how to create the setup in VS 2003 but it's the same in 2005.

Using an obfuscater would do the job. VS has build in dotfuscater and here [^] you can find an article to show you how to use it.

That's really not going to do it. It can still be reversed - although (depending on the obfuscator), it's going to look like rubbish. Obfuscation doesn't really accomplish too much with regards to the code because it still relies on the IL. To test it, obfuscate a piece of code and then open it with Reflector - it will still open up OK.

But have some logon process anyway, preferably a single-signon. Though you are intending a personal use application, you can then expand this using authentication to enable your friends too to store thier address books on a common web server and then retrieve it when the system is connected to the Internet.

I create Form and on it i set some UserControl that have on him some button.
When the Form is show - i try to set the Focus on this button that on the Form but i getting always Focus on the button that on the Usercontrol.
Someone have solution?

I define AcceptButton of the Form.
When i saw it is not helping - i try to use the Focus method on the Form button that i want to Fucos - But its also does not help.

Hi,
From the main form of a Windows application I am creating a modal dialog (using ShowDialog).
Is there any way I can detect when the user clicks outside the child form? It flashes a bit so I think it should have some sort of event behind. I have intercepted Deactivate but it seems that it's not the one.
