Hi,
I would like to develop Instant Messenger like Yahoo, MSN, and Google talk in ASP.net 2.0.I would like to know how to start to develop instant Messenger? Does Any third party provide the instant messenger to integrate with Asp.net 2.0 application? .Please sends me link and useful information to develop instant messenger in asp.net 2.0 with c#.

Create a new virtual directory on the IIS, copy files to that folder and navigate to it from any browser.

Check the ASP.NET Version of your Virtual Directory.
If your web applicaiton is on ASP.NET 2.0 then
Right click on Properties of Virtual Dir -> Asp.net version Tab -> Selelct the .NET Version .
Click Apply -> ok
Restart IIS , then Check.
Hope will work

Hai all,
Here i have a problem with Msaccess database.Problem is simple.
prob1:
when i am deleting a record programmitacally with delete button,the record should be decreased by 1 automatically.
But in my database if 5 records are there,if i delete 3rd record,now no of records it is showing is 4 with the previous record number.if i enter a new record it is giving 6 as the record_id,which is wrong.
i searched for the properties in access for a perticular field,but nothing helps me.How to solve this problem??

Also how to remove the history of a textbox values??
Like if i insert more than two records,textbox is giving the previous data for that textbox for the next time.I dont want to show the already entered data.
Which property i need to set??
Otherwise give me other solution.

Prob 1:
I think your record_id is AutoNumber, so it would return you 6 only.

Prob 2:
Thats because of your IE settings.
Go to Tools --> Internet Options.
Select Content Tab
Click the AutoComplete button. Uncheck the Form Check box and apply the settings.

Just set the autocomplete property to off.
You can directly code it on the HTML. For example:
<INPUT TYPE="text" AUTOCOMPLETE="off">
Or on the ASP.NET, you can set the TextBox property of AutoCompleteType to AutoCompleteType.None in your code.

Yep... Its not allowing.
To overcome this, the only solution is inserting an item at the index 0 and set the SelectedIndex to 0.

i have to insert a static value , if there exists one or more values the add new item can be placed at last position.what it ? i am not having any item, i am invoking a funciton on selection change , if it is having no value , add new will come at index 0 , i will than , unable to call the funciton on selected index change

If dropdown is having only one value, it won't post back on change. Why don't you add a (Choose any item) to index 0 and (Add new) to index 1, which solves the problem.

i am populating the dropdownist from database as well.if i add the string choose the item before updating the dropdownlist , it excludes this item from the list and fill the dropdownlist with items from the database.
now at last , after updating the control with the database , i am inserting two new static items at Runtime.
1.choose the item
2.add new.
now the problem is , i want to put the item choose the item at the top of the control and add new at the rear of the control.
how i should do it?

if understood what u want my suggestion is:-
save the result comming form the database in DataTable (dt)
then make for loop to insert the values
but the first item let be
ListItem li1=new ListItem ("Select...","-1");
and add it into ur dropdownlist.then add the item u want to.
if u bond the List u cant add the item with the value "-1"

hi
In my asp.net applicaton i populate my dropdown list using ajax.
its displaying the values.but the problem is after select the value the values in dropdown list are disapper.
here i am taking data from a new form by open that form using ajax .
